GO OWLS!

Sad to see another season gone though for my Owls. I'd gotten used to another 3 weeks of football due to bowls.

GL to Troy and Middle. Win it for the Belt.

Is there some reason it's called the Shula Award other than the fact that he's a famous football figure in South Florida?

Both schools have ties to Don Shula. FAU's coach Schnellenberger was an assistant with Shula in the 70's and FIU's previous coach Don Strock played for Shula in the 70's and 80's. There may be more to it that I don't know about.

That's exactly right......Congrats, once again, to FAU in another tough, well deserved win. It's hard to be on the losing end so many times, but hey, if anything....it builds character and will make it that much sweeter when we start winning....

According to that method of thought, FIU and Middle Tennessee have more character than anyone else in the Conference. 05-stirthepot

RE: FAU 28 – FIU 21 (final)
FAU winning, instead of FIU, prevented the final Sun Belt standings from lining up perfectly in terms of both conference and non-league records. Now you have a 5-7 team wedged between the two 6-6 teams. Washington upsetting Cal last night had a similar effect on the Pac-10 standings.

If 9-3 and going bowling is "losing," I don't mind building some character.

Doesn't MT lead the all time series against Troy?

RE: FAU 28 – FIU 21 (final)
FAU at FIU was a fun game to watch. There was a lot of great hitting and both teams showed lots of heart. Morris for FAU is a fantastic runner and QB McCall of FIU just kept getting pounded, getting up and either running or throwing for anther first down.
