RE: all things BK
They sign Brian Kelly's contract extension live on ESPN about 10:30 Saturday morning, with the team gathered around to watch.

At least that would be cool.

My brother says the same, Saturday morning news. He also says ND will hire Mangino and give him Charlie's wardrobe.

I think you're on to something here. Here is a photo from the Lawrence to South Bend flight.

Maybe he should do like normal people and use the facilities before the flight and hold it in during.

RE: all things BK
According to ESPN, ND is going to refuse any Bowl game invites they might recieve:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4713316

Quote:In the wake of Charlie Weis' firing after a disappointing season, it's unlikely that Notre Dame will accept a bowl game invitation, athletic director Jack Swarbrick said, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"I agree [no bowl] is the likely outcome, but we are reconvening the leadership counsel to make a final decision," Swarbrick said, according to the report.

A source familiar with the decision told the Chicago Tribune the choice already has been made -- and that it would take a change of heart by players and coaches at a team meeting scheduled for Friday to reverse that decision.

Well I heard that BK signed a contract extension earlier today... and yes please don't hold me to it. I wouldn't be surprised if ND never had BK on their short list to begin with.

The next round of rumors for the job will surround Skip Holtz, according to the same non-credible sites that we have been getting rumors from.

Seriously I can't imagine why any school would prefer Skip Holtz to BK. Stoops, Gruden, Urban Meyer, maybe even Chip Kelly or Petersen or Harbaugh. No way Edsall or Holtz. Are there any rumors about the things ND LIKES about Holtz??? Is it just that he's a defensive guy? Or is there something else?

Lou Holtz promised them he'd get better fitting teeth if they hired his son.

Nope. Lou Promised just promised to retire from espn, so he wouldn't embarrass ND further. Even my wife mocks him and she doesn't know much about football.

Lets throw yet another name on the rumor mill..

Notre Dame:
Sources tell us that Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick is very interested in talking with Wisconsin Head Coach, Bret Bielema, after the Badgers trip from
Hawaii. They are expected to talk Sunday or Monday, according to our sources.

RE: all things BK
I saw this on footballcoachscoop.com

Quote:Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Ron Powlus just left St. Xavier within a short time ago and told St. Xavier football coach Steve Specht that Notre Dame
wants to have the coaching search completed within a week to 10 days.

and

Quote:Our sources have confirmed that there is an offer on the table for Brian Kelly to be the next Head Coach of the Irish. According to our sources, Brian Kelly's
contract extension with Cincinnati is finalized but not signed.

Just read a post on the ND message board about Swarbrick calling a press conference for 11am tomorrow. Can't tell if the OP is credible or not.
