A lot of things have to fall just right in to place to beat an opponent that has outgained you by 237yds. Noted, Ball St. did run on them more than they passed.

RE: Battle of I-75 version 2.009
Rain will help stop the passing attack to some extent. If Dantin is at full speed, it gives us yet another running threat to open up the passing attack. We need turnovers and a way to stop Barnes.
This might be a good game to drop Church back to the safety position with the thought of letting him get a few hard pops on Barnes. That tends to shorten the arms of receivers and gets their eyes looking for things other than the football.

RE: Battle of I-75 version 2.009
A few points you left out:
- On defense, you did not factor in the absence of All-MAC performer PJ Mahone for 6 games. His return has led to forced fumbles, punt blocks and an all-around much better performance by the entire secondary.
- On offense, you did not even mention TE Jimmy Scheidler who is averaging 12.2 yards per catch.
- Lastly, the vast majority of the sacks are not the result of the offensive line but of Tyler refusing to give up on the play when receivers are covered by holding the ball too long.

Early forecast is for mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow flurries.

Quote:you did not even mention TE Jimmy Scheidler
He's one of the eight recievers with double digit (or more in the case of Barnes) catches, but who's counting.
Quote:you did not factor in the absence of All-MAC performer PJ Mahone for 6 games
Like he will be stopping the Rockets running game from his DB position. He'll no dobut get to make a lot of tackles in pursuit of Rockets downfield.
Quote:the vast majority of the sacks are not the result of the offensive line
So they are really great at pass blocking they just can't open a running lane? Right!

Well, about all I can add to that is that I can see how you became a Scout.com reporter.

RE: Battle of I-75 version 2.009
He's an update to my article that needs to be made:
From today's Blade
Quote:Bowling Green State University's Freddie Barnes has been named one of three finalists for the Fred Biletnikoff Award . . .
If he wasn't among the finalists that would be something to rage about.

Redwingtom, is this the only place you put your opinons in writing?
Where's your original reporting work?
Why not give it a try? There must be a website somewhere that covers the falcons. You might even enjoy doing research and editing.

And he left out BG's third string left guard who is averaging two plays per game on offense and blocked twice on the punt team. Not to mention the waer boy who served an average of 47 players Gatorade and water over the last three games and had an average trip between player and hydration source of 7.2 yards per carry.

All game changing performances, btw.
You have a good eye! However, along with serving an average of 47 players gatorade and water, he did not neglect the coaching staff either.
Also, Freddie Barnes ties his shoes in double knots and the team manager wears gold boxers on gameday.

Did you ever notice (sorry for the Andy Rooney voice now in your head) that they fill like 957 cups of Gatorade and line them up neatly on that table and no one touches them the whole game unless in the process of knocking the table over?
