Expect ASU attendance to fall next week. The fire Roberts crowd is coming out of the wood works.

it's definentely time ASU got a new coach. maybe a young, ambitious OC from a BCS school that has a good offensive mind and can recruit. like Fedora at USM.

With so much talent one would think Roberts could have a winning season. We are 1-5 against D1A teams this year.

I agree; it is a very tough economy and with so many people losing their jobs and their homes it is unrealistic to expect fans to continue to pay to see a team play that may or may not show up to play. The casual fans will drop like flies. Coach R needs to go !!!

This is not the sort of thing I say often, but... Even Todd Dodge is better than that.

Had it not been "Band Day" where over 30 bands showed up to the game Troy would have had more like 12000-13000.

Student turnout sucked. left at halftime when the game was 21-14.

Don't you mean they're going into the wood works? Doesn't deer season open in another week or two?

Although that statement is also true, The true ASU fans that would usually be at the games are starting to boycott.

South Alabama's win over Fork Union Military Academy 64-6 drew 12,188. Not too shabby considering we were playing a prep team on Halloween.

Yeah, what's the deal with that? I thought for sure you guys would have had 20,000+ even without the band day. Troy deserves a lot better attendance than they're getting. ULM's had an excuse with torrential rains at two of our three home games this year.

Crappy student support and just people that don't have the sack to face cold weather or a few sprinkles of rain. Student support is getting better every year, but the frats and sororities have a good bit of their members with loyalties to Auburn and Alabama. Some fans sit outside the stadium watching other games while the Troy game is going on. Same old story essentially. What non-BCS school doesn't have these types of problems though... unless the school is in a major city or is an upper MWC team or Boise State. Even mighty Houston is only averaging just over 25,000. They averaged around 20,000 this past weekend against a good Southern Miss.

RE: Sun Belt Attendance
A lot of the attendance problems this past saturday had to do with it being Halloween. Sure it was a conference game against an unbeaten opponent, but it was inexplicably scheduled for 6 PM when a 1 PM kick would have been a lot better for families. There is a family of 4 that sits to my left. Their kids are younger. They were noticeable absent. I'm sure they were out Trick-or-Treating. They don't live in Troy, but are new season ticket holders this year, at least in our section. And there are usually 3 at the far left end of our row that were absent. There is also a family that sits a row behind us, and it is either 2 sisters, or one girl and her friend, that are there at every game. The Dad from the group was there, but had another guy with him, and no wife and kids. My wife and daughter stayed at my parents house with my Mom to go trick-or-treating. I brought my Dad instead, so we still used both of our tickets.
Burn the Horse can tell you how empty the row of seats I sit in was. 18 seats, 4 filled. At Homecoming, I think there were 2 empty seats the entire row. So on just one row, you've lost at least a dozen people. The HS bands made a difference, but even after they played at halftime, I saw several of them leaving.
Hopefully attendance will pick up at the FAU game. It is before Thanksgiving this year, and not a week into December. Students will still be in town. And a day time game, so the cold temps shouldn't be that much of a factor. For some reason the folks in Troy get scared if the temp is in the 50s or below. I went to the game saturday night with a longsleeve underarmor type shirt on, a polo shirt, and a hooded sweatshirt, and I was plenty warm.
