The Belt passed the MAC again - Sags
Ok - it is now week 6 and the Sags are starting to count. How we finish (as a conference) in the Sags will probably determined where we end up in the BCS money... We were ahead of the MAC, slipped behind them for a week - and now we are just BARELY ahead of them. Neither conference is below a IAA, thank god. Anyway - what non-conference games are left? That will determine if we hold our lead over the Macsters and get another share of the BCS pie this year. NT has Army left, that is all. What about everyone else?[/align]

not a promising line-up for everyone else in other words.

ASU and Troy have a chance to win. no way FIU wins. UNT def has the stuff to beat a good Army team. hope the wins come the SBC's way.

ULM plays at Kentucky after stAte and I think the Warhawks have a good chance at this one.

FAU vs UAB left.

A winnable game.

If the Warhawks beat ASU Tuesday I think we'll have a good chance at Kentucky. We always play Kentucky well, beating them once and losing by 2 last time we played them two years ago or so.

SBC, CUSA, and MAC -- not a lot of difference really; WAC only a bit better. The MWC has separation from the rest of the non-AQs !!!

As of 10-11-09:

1 PAC-10 (A) = 79.05
2 SOUTHEASTERN (A) = 78.92
3 ATLANTIC COAST (A) = 76.07
4 BIG EAST (A) = 75.39
5 BIG 12 (A) = 75.29
6 BIG TEN (A) = 74.66
7 I-A INDEPENDENTS (A) = 72.30
8 MOUNTAIN WEST (A) = 69.83
9 WESTERN ATHLETIC (A) = 66.97
10 CONFERENCE USA (A) = 65.00
11 SUN BELT (A) = 62.32
12 MID-AMERICAN (A) = 62.28

WAC is closer to MWC than it is to the SBC and MAC.

Staying right here for the remainder of the year will mark good progress for the Belt. I think, for the most part, we've beaten the teams we should have and have a couple nice BCS W's as well (FIU's loss to Toledo still sticks in my craw a bit 03-banghead).

Getting to C-USA should be our goal for next year.

I agree, as a whole the conference is doing much better. Only games that stick out to me are the Troy/BGSU, FIU/Toledo, UNT/Ohio, and ASU/Iowa. If we would have won those games we would be doing great right now. I hope we all can bring home the W's with the rest of our OOC games! I'm looking forward to the Owls giving the salamanders of UAB a beating! 04-cheers

GO SBC!

Sags has OkSt rated higher than Houston and UTexas rated 14th. Sags have never made any sense and still doesn't. At least they finally have Iowa higher than PennSt, which they did not for a week or two.
