FIU fans, did any more additions get done to your new stadium this year? I think I read last year where there was more stuff to be done. Thanks.

RE: FIU fans p'oed at gameday atmosphere
I know they were dissapointed as well with the turnout and the Atmosphere.

Announced attendance for the FIU game was 11K and change.

Announced for FAU was 14K and Change

I think in reality we had about 10K or so "actual" folks for FAU so I sympathize, and can imagine that FIU probably had about 7-8K of so "actual" folks. The 1st half was BRUTAL tempature wise for FAU.

Only real plus I saw was that the band game out strong and the student section was only a little less then last year. Hopefully well start to win a few and it will drive some butts.

There were a lot of issues with the first game with some of the audio and video equipment and also had a full new staff running the show behind the scenes that I'm pretty sure was their first time trying to produce a game. All gets better with experience, time and practice.

FIU MUST find the money for their band. That is half the gameday experience. I know our games would be quite dull without our band, for the casual observer.

Announced attendance was actual attendance. We had the west endzone empty and only about 1/4 of the visitors side was being used. Let's look at highlights of both games and see how the stands look?

FIU

FAU

This year they finished construction of the fieldhouse in the west endzone which added a new weight room (15K SQ Feet), added coaches offices, new ticket offices, team meeting spaces, 6 new gameday luxury boxes, an auditorium and is the temporary home of the FIU Hall of Fame. Go F I U.

crowd looks about the same for both.

Sounds like we both had a endzone open and the same on the visitors side.

Not much more can be expected right now from either school with the way were playing and our youth.

I'm not going to get into an attendance discussion, because it would be ridiculous on so many levels. However....

Dude,

Im not smacking FIU at all.

I read on your board that many of you were unhappy with the turnout and the atmosphere.

FAU did not have a good crowd either. and those pictures pretty much showed the vistor side and empty endzone side.

I dont ever talk attendance smack because my school sucks at it.

Nice looking stadium. I am impressed.

I wonder if FIU (or anyone, for that matter) ever sends their marketing folks on the road to see what others do?

With FIU being new to the game, it would help them tremendously, I would think.

I wonder if SBC schools have a marketing commitee, whereas folks can ask questions, get advice, and come up with new ideas? It would be a win/win for everyone.

It was not so long ago that our in-game experience at MT sucked the big one. Since Massaro has been here, it has changed. I know the answer is "winning" but NO team is going to win "every" year (unless a "Boise" emerges).

I feel bad for the FIU fans. Starting from scratch has to be tough.

There's more photos out there, VW was doing some promotions at the game using those ladies. Red Bull had the same kind of promotion last year.
