With the exception of that time at Auburn last year when he actually thought that offense would work in the SEC with a bunch of players who arent used to running it

They did have one receiver that was bit better. Our offense has hung with other high caliber offenses as well. We've held our own offensively against Louisville, Kentucky, Maryland, Miss. St, LSU, Missourri and a few others. Did you catch any of those games, or are you just talking smack without having watched us play?

What I do see from MT is a pretty good team that will battle for the sun belt title this season, what I don't see is an offense that's just as good as a top 5 SEC team, you are having delusions of epic proportions.

I support North Texas, and no I'm not here to trash talk in fact I think your team takes the game Saturday, I have nothing but respect for the MUTS. Your fans are as classy as they come, but statements like that will put you right there with some of the homers from troy.

Well, everyone has a right to there own opinion and you may be correct in your evaluation, but since I've been watching college ball since 1977, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.

We'll agree to disagree on this one. Only two more days until we find out.

Best of luck to the Raiders(except Saturday!)05-stirthepot

Tuberville didn't buy into it, Franklin by most accounts was forced on him just as Malzahn was forced on Nutt at Arkansas.

RE: Bleacher Report - UNT/muts game
franklin's offense works. i hated seein' him go to the muts.

he's a bit of a hot head. the reason he was let go at auburn was because he punched out tuberville. at least that is the story i was told.

i'd take him as head coach up here in a minute and if iLLLLLLLLLLLson goes 0-12 don't be stunned to see it happen. he wants a head job badly and would take the wku job in a minute.

as for the comment about 'delusions of epic proportions'....i thought that was s.o.p. on this site after reading the troy posts all summer. no reason a blue faider fan can't believe their offense is on par with 'bammer.

*i don't buy it but to each his own.

As far as the idea of our offense being as good as Bamas...who knows? What I do know is, with all due respect BlueRaiderFan111, I don't see how our games in the past with Bama have anything to do with either team this year. We haven't played them while either of the current head coaches were in place, let alone offensive coordinators and none of the current players on either side have played each other. Suggesting that our last two games against the Tide are any indication of the two current offenses is about as valid as suggesting beating the Tide on Playstation means that we could beat them in real life.

We've an established history vs many teams that our offense is very good when it's clicking. If I mentioned an SEC team, all of their previous history that establishes them as a power would sway your opinion. Also, use games this year and compare foes. Fine with me. Clemson has one of the best D's in the country and we still hung 14 on them. If our D was as good as theirs, the game would have ended in OT. I'll concede Bama if you like. Let's just say that our offense is very good this year and leave it at that. We'll see how the rest of the year plays out and then come back to the subject, if that's ok.

Just to be clear I never said that our offense was or wasn't as good as Bama's. I just think that your reasoning was a little off. I'll say this, our offense is good this year. It's better than Memphis's it's better than Maryland's and it overall it very well may be better than Clemson's(it definitely is threw the air) but that's all I'm willing to say at this point.

Isn't Franklin from the Bowling Green neck of the woods?

I know he has a daughter that lives in the area.

Nah, some Troy fans were talking about beating Florida before the season started and just after. I would never go that far, but you have to love their enthusiasim.

i don't know anything about a daughter but a good friend of mine...originally from the princeton area was visiting up there this week and spoke to franklin's brother. who said tony wanted a head coaching job really bad.

that by no means says he'll ever end up here but i think we would have a good shot at him especially if elson can't get out of this tailspin (of his own making) and pitches a shutout this year.

enjoy him while you can kajunraidah my brutha. he's the real deal and ya'll already had the athletes to compete in his system. i knew he'd make a difference when you got him and was definitely envious of the signing.

Another good candidate from MT (eventually) would be our defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. Great speaker, and father is the mayor of Miami= we have more Florida players than any other state on our team.

Only thing is........ the ladies will be watching him instead of you. 04-cheers04-bow
