I thought WKU played very hard against USF, and although it was very evident there was a talent discrepancy between the teams, I came away impressed that WKU would win a couple games in Sun Belt play. It kind of reminded me of when we went on the road to play FIU last year, and they played us tough. FIU then went on to win some games.

So, if a Sun Belt team plays the mighty Bulls "tough" than they are guaranteed for greatness ?

Don't be so touchy Kajun, I don't think he meant any disrespect. I think he was just trying to be nice after their lopsided victory.

Thanks for the accolades. We were so disappointed with the UT game and only wanted to be competitive then and seemed to be much more competitive against USF. WKU is such a young team, 57 freshman, we will take our lumps. We expect to beat UCA but after that not sure if any wins will be possible. Should only get better from here out and if we don't we need to look for a new coach.

This weekend should be the litmus test for that Franko!

Remember, WKU is new to the I-A game. Just give it time. Miami has been outscored 90-0 this year and they've been doing this for a lot longer than the Hilltoppers.

How exactly did WKU wind up with 57 freshmen? I thought there was a limit on the maximum number of initial grants-in-aid each year that was around 25 or 30.

If I'm not mistaken the 57 is true freshmen, redshirt freshmen, and players currently redshirting. Don't hold me to that. Its still REALLY young. Almost 70% of our roster is underclassmen.

No doubt, 'Doc Saturday' is also a So. Miss fan who's got a chip on his shoulder about the Cards, USF, and pretty much the BE in general. He carries his grudges too long and too far...

I am loving Coach Elson's reply to the article:

Elson says he hasn’t seen that particular blog, nor does he intend to seek it out.

I guess today's game against Central Arkansas really added some validity to this article. It was a tough loss for WKU and maybe the conference as a whole.

If Lou Holtz says drop football, that school should instead expand the stadium and double the coaches' pay. :)
