Didn't the Cajuns have 41k for their first game?

It's probably an average.

Yes they did but they had rain all day from a tropical storm against KSU.

RE: Sun elt Attendance
To me, year to date, implies total not average. My mistake, I suppose.

RE: Sun Belt Attendance
The forecast in Lafayette was for 100% chance of rain. It ended up raining most of the day and into the 1st quarter, but being very nice after that.

Having said that, we still have way too many "fair weather fans" in Lafayette. This was a great opportunity (having a BCS team in the house) and should have been a sellout. Our fans have to get better.

Our next home opponent is UNT. I believe there will be at least 26,000 at this game (barring rain) and around 30,000 for the homecoming game against Florida Atlantic.

Attendence at the last 2 games will depend on how the Cajuns are doing in the SBC race. I think the Cajuns still have a good chance to lead the belt in home attendence this season.

For ULM, it was definitely the rain. Rained nearly the entire game and really poured down twice in the first half and again around the fourth quarter. Actually, 9,300 is pretty good for a rain game in Monroe. I was impressed with all the folks who were there. They got a good show from the team.

RE: Sun elt Attendance
The attendance battle isn't won with winning teams and fair weather. It is won in the heat of summer finishing up aggressive season ticket campaigns.

UL had pratically no season ticket campaign. Hopefully one day they will do that.
