RE: Good Bad In-Between Week 2
Don't get me wrong, I had an excellent seat to see how bad our passing game is but we had an 8 point game with 11:26 left in the game against South Florida. The game was ugly to a fault with so many penalties but we had momentum several times where USF was back on their heels only to kill it with another penalty. First true season in D1, I will take this effort if we are more competitive once we hit conference play.

I watched part of the game on Sports Net NY. WKU is coming along but couldn't do anything but put WKU in the bad because there is no one else in the league I would have tabbed as better than bad with the same game.

As to penalties, I suspect that if you went back and looked at teams in their first year in FBS, their games tended to be more penalty laden than the national average and the mental errors tend to be contagious with both teams doing it.

WKU deserved to be in the bad category because of all the penalties and miscues. But I think we are coming along fairly well - making strides toward having a better season. We are still VERY young, so this season is gonna hurt.

.
I concur. Most of the Bulls fans were grumbling about how they did not pound us like Tennessee thus deducing they are not a good team. Then wise posters try to quell their disillusionment with scores of where other BCS schools struggled but then the simpleton fan tries to use comparative scores to justify their ineptness but anyone who knows college football knows it is not that simple. 01-wingedeagle
