Top Moment in SBC history
In your opinion what is the top moment in SBC history?

Second question, what was the best moment in your program's history since joining the SBC?

RE: Top Moment in SBC history
As for greatest moment in SBC? I'll refrain from being a homer.

For WKU --- It would be the our two Sweet 16 trips in 1993 and 2008.

RE: Top Moment in SBC history
There isn't one that stands out, yet. The closest we have to a single biggest moment would be Troy over #17 Missourri Tigers, but I don't think it edges a few others out by much, if at all. That would be the one at this point though. I do think that the wins over Texas A and M, Maryland and the almost huge upset of LSU are known events in the football world. The in over Minnessota was ok. I think FAU beating CMU is the Motor City Bowl is well known. We need a win over a bigger name and in a bowl game. If we can get a bowl game against a BCS team through one of our tie ins, that would be the biggest so far, especially if it was a decent team.

RE: Top Moment in SBC history
Correct me if my memory has gone awry but in 2008 wasn't the 101-99 O/T WKU win over Drake in the first round a 3-pointer at the buzzer ? If so that would have to be the best single moment in Belt history & WKU made it to the Sweet 16.

IMHO for UNT it would be the 2001 "Miracle in the desert" win over New Mexico State. Beleive the muts game was over and many were sitting in their stadium parking lot listening to the game thinking UNT was losing & they'd make a trip to Nawlins but it didn't happen !

RE: Top Moment in SBC history
The year the SBC put four teams in the NCAA Tournament was certainly a highlight. That was the peak of the SBC success.

RE: Top Moment in SBC history
I guess I would rate the moment by how well it's remembered. Don't know if that would top some of the football games.

MTSU fans are a little bit handicapped in this game since you've only been in the conference since 2000/1?

ULM beating Alabama
Troy beating #17 Missouri
Middle Tennessee beating Vandy twice in a row
WKU going to the Sweet 16 in basketball

For my school, the highlights would be Troy beating Mizzou and Oklahoma State at home

Don't know if you mean among current members or in total Sun Belt history, but I would say the single greatest Sun Belt moment occurred in 1982 when Sun Belt member UAB defeating defending champion Indiana and #2 Virginia and Ralph Sampson to secure a spot in the Elite Eight, missing the Final Four by a nine point loss to Louisville

Greatest moment in SBC is probably when FAU joined.

Greatest FAU moment, beating Troy at Troy to take the championship and go on to win the NO bowl and being to youngest team to do so.

GO OWLS!!!

ULM over Bama and Nick Saban saban saying that it was as bad an incident as 9/11. What a douche.01-wingedeagle

Ill refrain from greatest moment in SBC histroy. Havent been following it long enough to make that call. 03-phew

Greatest moment in FAU history was the 2007 defeat of Troy at Troy to win the confrence and go to the NOBOWL. That vicotry, our first EVER against Troy, in thier house, put us on the path we are now on and gave us the spotlight.

That game was voted by over 80% on a recent poll as our greatest win.

When we beat a good AQ program (Minn in my mind doesnt really count, they were GOD AWFUL that year) that might eclipse it, and if we beat a ranked AQ team it certainly will.

The top moment in SBC history would be the whole bowl agreement fiasco last season.

I don't think that was the case. Though I'm not sure when UNCC with Cornbread Maxwell had their run if they were in the Sun Belt at the time.

The top moment in the SBC will be when Wright Waters gets his dumb ass out of the commish chair.

A correction:
Jacksonville made the Final Four in 1970. The Sun Belt wasn't formed until August 1976, but in it's first year, it was UNC Charlotte who represented the conference by making the Final Four in March 1977.

I had forgotten about that. For a conference to put a member in the Final Four in its first year is probably the Top moment in Sun Belt history.
