The two teams in the FCS national title game are usually at least top 60 in the Sagarin ratings.

Which means Sagarin thinks they aren't as good as an undefeated Harvard who didn't beat any scholarship programs.

I hope you guys don't have to play UT Chattanooga this year. UT Chattanooga and Western Carolina are the perrenial doormats of the SOCON. The year before last Troy struggled to beat them 24-17 so lets not kid ourselves acting like the difference between Troy and the Socon is like the NFL vs HS.

App State would be a top 3 team in the SB. GSU during our title runs would be top two. The only big difference is the additional depth you gain with the extra 22 scholarships and perhaps a skill position here and there.

I can't find where Troy has played UTC since 1998 and can't find where Troy ever played Western Carolina.

don't get me wrong, I like watching the top FCS teams like App State play. However, I am not going to sit here and agree with you that Division 1-AA teams are as good as MOST FBS teams. I say most because there are the exceptions, but they are very few and far between.

When you line up an FBS team against an FCS team, 9 1/2 times out of 10 the FBS team is going to beat the 1-AA team. Why is this? The degree and level of talent seperation. The best players want to play in the Football Bowl Subdivision first and foremost. The players who play in the FCS are good players, but they are not the caliber you find in the "big boys."

When Alabama State came to Troy in 2006, and Alcorn State came in 2008, we blew them out of the water. Our 3rd string guys were scoring touchdowns like there was no defense. Those two programs may not be the best in the FCS, but the example remains.

That is why WE schedule YOU for gimmie games.

I'm sorry, but that is reality.

RE: Greatest Run Ever
Adrian Peterson ... so well-loved by his teammates that No. 19 tried to strip the ball from him as he was running (check the end of the play).

If that is what you call the greatest run ever, go back to the film room. Junior Loussaint had a much more memorable run.
