Non BCS OOC Games
So how will the SBC do in its Non BCS OOC games?

First off, it sucks that North Texas plays half our games against the MAC. So, we will start off in the hole against the MAC. Troy and FIU will have to win their games to get us back up to ..500 and I thnk they will. MT, Troy, and FAU have games against CUSA, Troy and FAU both take on UAB, and MT takes on Memphis. I think we sweep those games making us 3-0 vs CUSA. Only one game against the WAC. FAU takes on Wyoming at home. I think FAU wins it. That makes 1-0 vs the WAC. Two games against the Independants. North Texas takes on Army and Western Ky takes on Navy. Sadly, I think we lose bothe games. 0-2 vs Independants. Lastly, we have two games against 1AA schools. ASU takes on Mississippi Valley State and ULL takes on Southern. I think we win both those games.

In review:
MAC 2-2
CUSA 3-0
WAC 1-0
Ind. 0-2
1AA-2-0

Total 8-4

I think it is really important that we win many of these Non BCS OOC games to improve our reputation among the College football world. It is nice to get a few BCS wins but winning these games will really advance our cause in my opinion. We definately can not afford to lose to any 1AA schools.

You may get served up with a plate of crow to go with your relentless dumping on North Texas. I do agree that we've got to avoid 1AA losses. Thankfully you have no 1AA games with the muts having lost to a 1AA team.05-stirthepot

I will be pulling for the Toppers, but that is one tough team you are playing.

FAU should take Wyoming. In fact, Weber State is one of the few 1AA teams I've picked to win an opener vs a 1A team (Wyoming). Weber State did however finish ranked 9th in 1AA, while Wyoming is ranked number 107 on Phil Steele's Power Poll.

We have 4 games against 1AA schools. ULM plays Texas Southern, WKU plays Central Arkansas, ASU plays MVSU and ULL plays Southern.

I am hoping that central Ark. isn't one of those trip up games where our staff isn't ready for them.

UCA isn't a weak 1-AA team. You'd better be ready. They were 10-2 last year.

Although Tulsa scored 64 on them, they did put 34 on Tulsa.
Just checked.....it was 28-20 at half. 04-jawdrop

They lost QB Nathan Brown. The kid was a stud for their team. It will be hard for them to replace him, but then again, thats what everyone in the Southland is hoping/saying.

Let me go on record and say I would love to play North Texas.

That being said, I think everyone in Texas should play Texas Southern or Prairie View A&M. If nothing else, you get bad-ass entertainment from their marching bands.

Western Ky. is going to take a butt kicking. UCA is a very solid team. They lost Nathan Brown, but have Nathan Dick that transfered down from the UofA.

About the FAU-Wyoming game. Don't underestimate Wyoming. They have defeated Ole Miss (twice), Tennessee, and UCLA in recent years and they are in the lower half of the MWC. Yes they were the original WAC, but most of the original WAC is now the MWC. I'm surprised Belters did not do the research after the pounding Utah put on Alabama in the Sugar Bowl or Wyoming going into Knoxville and winning.

Most Owl fans arent looking past Wyoming.

We do consider it a winnable game and one that we have a very good shot at it, being that they have institued a new offenseive scheme (spread) and I think they will still be adjusting to that with theier new coach I think FAU will have the advantage.

On top of that they are travelling to our house, and I dont think they will be used to the heat and humidity of South Florida. I think they'll be pretty vaped by third quarter. We will have a similar disadvantage when we travel there due to the altitude.
