IMO opinion someone has been listening to excessive amounts of Alex Jones and/or staying up all night listening to Coast To Coast AM.
There are plenty of things to oppose Obama on. The Birthers need to STHU and let Obama and the Democrats crash and burn on their own with this insane taxation and spending.
Hey, something me, WMD Owl and Ann Coulter can all agree on.
(Except for the Obama crash and burn bit, of course...)
I definitely think the birthers need to shut up. There are enough real problems with Obama to focus on them instead of the off-the-wall stuff.
I do have serious problems with the amount of information about his past that has been stifled. I just can't get over the intuitive feeling that there's something wrong somewhere--kind of the same feeling I had with Nixon and Watergate--but I don't think the birth certificate is where it is.
I do agree with the crash and burn part. I see almost nothing that Obama has done--and absolutely nothing that he is proposing--that won't ultimately prove devastating unless it can be reversed. And I'm not sure that a lot of it can be reversed. I don't want the US to crater (and if it does I sure don't want to be here when it happens) but I really can't see a different outcome.
To those of you who had this visceral sense that everything associated with Shrub was evil, I now know how you felt. I see no possibility of anything good coming from Obama.

Wouldn't it be funny if it were the Demo's that were feeding the Birthers the cr-p like the Kenya birth certificate and continuously bringing it up?
What a marvelous way to keep up a flap in a way that disses any conservative; i.e. "look at the stupid people who oppose us, they all think BHO is a non-citizen".
And, while you have that thought in mind, tune in to Olbermann's or Rachel Maddowe's shows on MSNBC.
It seems to me that Kos and Olbermann and Maddowe are doing a fine job keeping this alive.....

that might make sense if they were the only ones talking about it. they aren't. it's all over drudge, redstate, etc... online. And it's all over FoxNews, Lou Dobbs, and the talk radio jocks (dang that Michael Savage is quite a character, isn't he?). So yeah, it's clearly the evil liberals keeping this one alive for their nefarious purposes...
Oh, and let's not forget the elected Republican officials, both at the local and national (House and Senate), who are fueling this thing too - clearly they have reached some sort of pact with the liberal overlords to use this as a way to obfuscate from Obama's true dark secrets...
On a more serious note, Rachel Maddow's name doesn't end with an "e"...

Funny thing is that nothing ever gets said about the vast majority of "conservative" pols and/or conduits that label this topic as bad blather (as it should). (sorry about placing the term "vast" anywhere near the term conservative ---- bad memories about another supposed conspiracy come from that goruping....)
From my viewpoint, the Birthers are an incredibly small minority (*incredibly*). And I do like the way that you obviously believe that anyone with a conservative/libertarian bent seems predestined to follow Michael Savage's every word..... Sorry to have touched a nerve on you there.
And, sorry to have committed a Maddowe foul, there.....

Amarillo Globe editorial on birthers (Amarillo was briefly home back in the 90s.)
I like this line:
"It's one thing to have America reject your record or your principles. It's something else entirely to have America laughing at you."

You didn't touch a nerve. I agree they are a small and vocal community. And I know that, despite the ratings Savage and others get, that not everyone "with a conservative/libertarian bent seems predestined to follow Michael Savage's every word" - I would hope that nothing I said made it seem like I believed that.
And I'm sorry, but it is complete BS to say that nothing is ever said about the "conservative" pols and talking heads who speak out against the birthers. Complete and utter BS. The darlings of your liberal media (Huffington Post, Daily Kos, etc...) cover every time Ann Coulter and other prominent "conservatives" (your quotes, not mine) denounce these crazies. Of course, they, and others, also cover when prominent Repbulican elected officials and right-of-center talking heads (or whatever we want to call them) endorse or refuse to explicitly distance themselves from Orly Taitz and her ilk.
There is no conspiracy. And Michael Savage is hilarious.

So how about a bet. I give you $100 for every mention of a conservative birther denouncer in the following:
Kos
Huffpo
Firedoglake
Politico
Olbermann show
Maddowe show
You give me $100 for every mention of a birther pushing the birther "philosophy" in the same media. Does that sound fair?
No offense, but your "equalization" theorem is, for the lack of a better term and diplomatic term, "off the mark".

Interestingly, the Obamas managed to get a Republic of Kenya birth certificate several years before the Republic of Kenya even existed.
Devious people indeed!
JAAO - I was hoping you'd posted this:
"Certificate of Live Muslim Kenyan Birth to a White Lady"
Anyone whose mother is named "Stanley" needs to be investigated "just because" .....
Show me the real birth certificate. I want to really see the signature of a woman named "Stanley"..

I'm not trying to prove anything is equal. Do me a favor and stop putting words in my mouth. Discussions are more interesting when that doesn't happen.
All I was saying was that your contention that nobody reported on conservatives speaking out against the birthers was ludicrous. I never said that they were reported on any more or less than the birthers themselves, just that they received mention.
Also, I used the "liberal" media outlets to make a point, but Coulter and others criticizing the birthers have been covered by the mainstream media as well...
