Bama LB transfers to South Alabama
Charlie Higgenbothem, a linebacker at Alabama is transferring to South Alabama and will have 2 years eligibility left. He played high school ball at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham under Coach Joey Jones, South's new head coach. He played frequently for Bama over the last several years, making a few tackles. (Hope the change satisfies "HemiMan". :^)

12 tackles as a freshman and 4 as a junior would not be numerous tackles to me.

And I guess "It's is" might be correct in a WKU English class.

Yeah, I guess 'hunt and peck' isn't as accurate as knowing how to properly type on a qwerty keyboard. But then again I see you are a WKU fan living in Georgia. That's like two strikes against you before you even get up to bat.

Watch it there RDA, he happens to be living in my hometown and the Cobb County school system is very well regarded nationally.

FWIW on the 2008 list of the top 1,300 public High Schools in the country Alabama has 10 and Georgia has 51.

Yeah yeah. Just joking around. I know that the Alabama HS system isn't the best overall, but there are pockets, like here in Birmingham, that have great schools.

It could be worse...Mississippi and Louisiana both only have 2 schools on the list.

Of the 10 schools on the list, 4 are in Birmingham or Hoover.

Since we are already way off topic. How many does TN have on the list? Just wondering.

There was another one on that list of ones considered too elite for the list. A school in Irondale.

But there are 5 in the Birmingham area on the list.

Oak Mountain
Mountain Brook
Homewood
Spain Park
Hoover

I'm seriously wondering why Vestavia Hills isn't on there. Everyone considers the big 4 up here to be Mtn. Brook, Homewood, Vestavia, and the Hoover system. Most would put VH as 2nd behind Mtn. Brook.

My mom went to Shades Valley in the 1960's. Is it even still around?

Thanks, Manzano. We also have a RB from Memphis and a QB from Oregon State coming in and both will most likely start. Also, our new multi-million dollar football fieldhouse and practice fields (2) which will be 2nd to none, especially among mid-major schools and most BCS schools, are nearing completion. Go Jaguars!
