"Right now EMU is where Buffalo lived from 200-2005, hopeless. But they have a new staff coming in and are located in great football recruiting state so long term yes the program can turn it around but don't expect 2009 to be a too much of better year. For the short term its hard to see the Eagles stopping anybody after losing most of the defensive backfield which is not helpful to a unit who's only moment's of success were stopping the pass."

If the writer will allow me to look at THIS and NEXT season...

IF Delano Johnson, Ryan Leonard play as well as hoped. Thomas becomes a transfer star next year at safety. Moffett shows up and becomes eligible in '10 as a potential MLB star.

Lot of IFs but sports are about IFs.

The D could surprise in '10. The ingredients are there.

I agree and youre not even thinking about the fact Coach English will markedly improve recruiting just because he already was part of the wolverines pipeline. To extend the Buffalo example coach Gill only went 2-10 his first season but he was lying the tools for success for a 5-7 year in 2007 and a 7-5 in 2008

Indeed if the EMU admins have a scenario it is that of UB.

In the MAC, the right coach, at the right time can move a team up quickly.

The one thing which is DIFFERENT is that EMU has greater recruiting upside, even given the stiff competition, given that there is more talent within 50 miles of Ypsi then there is of Buffalo.
