It would be interesting to compare NACDA ratings to athletic budgets to see who is getting the best performance vs what is spent.

For example, Denver is #54 this year, and spends about $23 million on its athletic budget. That's a higher budget number than most (if not all) Sun Belt schools, but then again, Denver is a plane ride away from 85% of its sports opponents and Denver sponsors a number of expensive, non-traditional sports (Skiing, ice hockey, lacrosse, etc.).

Relative to other non-football D-I athletic depts (D-I AAA), Denver has the top performing athletic dept in America in terms of its ranking, and does very well vs schools with far larger budgets, but perhaps other SBC schools are getting a better return (a high ranking with a smaller budget outlay...
