Courtney Lee on the move...
Part of a five player deal.
Magic receive: Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson
Nets receive: Rafer Alston, Tony Batie and C-Lee
I was figuring that the Magic would probably move Alston in the offseason, but I was surprised to see them move Lee.

I had just heard on the news. Sucks large, I had no problem cheering the Magic but good grief, the stinking Nets?

The Magic gave up way to much for the likes of Vince Carter. Lee was proving that he was a solid guard, and Alston was flat out great during the playoffs.

Alston was a headcase who couldn't play off the bench and was a cancer in the locker room. He was clearly not going to start with Jameer Nelson back next year, so he needed to go. I definitely appreciate how he played in the playoffs this year (and it was a mistake benching him in the Finals), but he wasn't in the long-term plans.
I hate to lose Lee, but I wonder how much higher his ceiling is given his age (24). The Magic made this trade thinking of the present rather than the future. Vince gives them a scorer they haven't had since Me-Mac left, and this trade should help convince Hedo to stick around. Vince isn't an injury risk and had a solid year this past season, so teamed with Dwight, Hedo, and Jameer, there's no reason to think the Magic can't be back in the Finals again with him on board. It was time for the Magic to try to win now rather than keep building for the future.

RE: Courtney Lee on the move...
So which team has improved the most?
The Cavs getting Shaq or the Magic getting Vince?

The Magic getting Vince. Shaq might slow Dwight down some, but Vince fits perfectly into the Magic offense, and the Cavs still don't have any other scorers or meaningful bench players. Mickael Pietrus coming off the bench for the Magic is better than any 1/2/3 that Cleveland has not named LeBron.

I'm really excited to see what Jeff Teague can do for my Hawks. As much as I love Bibby, he can't play forever. I'm afraid it will be a few years before Teague reaches a level where he's competing with the best PG in the league, but he should be an upgrade over Law/Claxton coming off the bench, both of whom were shipped to Golden State for Jamal Crawford last night, who should be a very nice relief for Joe Johnson. If we can Bibby, Zaza and Marvin, I expect us to be right back in it again next yer. I'm afraid we're still no better than #4 in the east, but a man can dream.

I think the Hawks have finally righted the ship. I'm excited to see them doing well...I miss the days of Mookie, Dominique, & Co.

RE: Courtney Lee on the move...
I see Vince as an exact replacement for Hedo, as I don't know the likeliness of him staying around. Vince is the same type of player (no defense, lazy most of the time, scorer, doesn't recognize double-teams, etc). The Magic basically swapped Lee (part of their future) and Hedo (wherever he goes) for Vince.
The Magic better hope Vince really "WANTS" that proverbial "it", because, otherwise the Magic aren't any better off. Also, there's only one ball out there and it SHOULD be in Howard's hands most of the time. You think Vince likes to pass up "getting his"? Then, you have to try to share the ball with Nelson, Lewis, and Hedo, if, for some reason, he returns.
I hate to see Courtney in New Jersey though. I think it'll help his offensive game out a lot, but he's going to have to understand wins are going to be few and far between, which may be difficult for him, as he's only been used to winning his whole life (at Pike, with the Toppers, then with the Magic last year).

One thing thats not mentioned, is you are putting Vince in his home town, how many distractions will this cause him?
