And their beer sucks!

My son just graduated from Lassiter in May. We are off of Shallowford and Lassiter Roads near the CVS. Been there since 1999.

I love Murfreesboro, but there's a lot I miss about Marietta. For starters, I would kill for a Taco Mac up here. I make it down for a Braves game about once a month, but if I lived in Marietta I'd go way more often. I feel fortunate to have gone to a school as good as Lassiter, was your son involved in any sports or clubs?

Lassiter is one of the best if not THE best high school band in the country! I would describe them as a college symphony band on a high school field haha.... Wish I could see them live 03-hissyfit

That's an insult to the C.H. Collins Athletic Complex. Don't go lumping it in with Fouts Field.

RE: Pics of WKU's new football field
I am just curious... The above picture is Denton High School's stadium (actually, it is shared by the 2 Denton High Schools). It looks impressive but I have seen more impressive around here... My old high school - Northwest - has a nice one. The house that Dodge built in Southlake is AMAZING and I think that they have an indoor practice facility. Plano has one, I really could go on and on - and these are just places with the Metroplex that I know of.

My question is this... do other states have High School stadiums that really are better than college stadiums? I think that it puts a school like NT that is trying to recruit these local kids in a bad position. Kids do not understand that School Districts can build whatever they want with taxpayer money and colleges can't. Are there high school stadiums like the one above in Arkansas? Tennesee? Louisiana? Alabama? I would bet that there are some nice ones in Florida - nice tax base there like North Texas.

I can speak for Columbus, GA. The best stadium we have is at a one of the 8 high schools in the city, named Shaw High School. My high school, Northside, doesn't even have a stadium (school opened in 2001). Many of the others either don't have one or have them but don't use them because they can't afford to run them. Now as far as Troy, the high school in the city, Charles Henderson High School uses Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium for their games. But it's safe to say not many schools in west georgia and east alabama have stadiums like this, must be nice.... Schools like Dothan, Smiths Station, and other big schools have them but most don't.

Yeah, they're incredible. I wasn't in the band, I wanted to have a life. It's crazy, the years they aren't competing for, or should I say the years they aren't winning BOA national championships, in addition to after school practice, they practice from 9am-9pm every Saturday. The seasons they are...forget about it, I'm not really sure how they even get schoolwork done.

Somehow it happens - I am not certain either. But those kids work as hard, if not harder, than ANY sports team Lassiter has on campus. My son was in the band the first 2 years of HS and loved it.
