It still amazes me the mentality on this board. We will do whatever it takes to win, even get someone like Lance "Walking NCAA Violation" Stephenson for a year. This guy is OJ Mayo II. His "Born Ready" TV show payments have question marks all over it. His Under Armour affiliation has long been rumored. If LS steps foot on this campus, I just wouldn't be comfortable at all. Let's do this the right way. Don't sell our souls for one good year. There are just too many risks involved, as evidenced by the fact that so many programs have turned away. I trust Pastner & Co. on this one, but I just don't feel right at all about LS. Most people realize he hasn't been a professional since he was 12.

If Kansas and Arizona are willing to take him, I would think that it's not that big of a deal.

There are so many rumors going around that I don't think Lance even knows what is true and isn't. Until they prove he did something I am willing to give him a chance to become a Tiger.

It is not a rumor that someone produced an internet series entitled "Born Ready TV" to promote Lance, and obviously put some money into it.

It is not a rumor that Lance's family has a relationship of some sort with UnderArmour, owned by a big Maryland booster, and it is not much of a stretch to understand Lance's interest in the Terps.

Just curious, does anyone know if universities hire people to do NCAA regulation background checks to verify that a player is "clean" and will not bring sanctions to the university? If that makes sense...

i agree, everyone is scared of this guy for a reason...he has too much
ability to not be mentioned with every big school in the country...something isn't right about his entourage!

If our recruitment of him is clean we'll be fine, regardless of what he may have done before. If his amateur status has been compromised, that's up to the NCAA Clearinghouse to figure out. If there were problems that kept him from playing, it would have to be proven that we knew at the time we signed him. At least that's how I think it works.

It's not how it works but Cory Magette was getting paid before going to Duke and they got to keep their national championship, and Darrell Arthur flunked out of high school and Kansas got to keep their national championship.
