Yeah... I was there, it was the Band and around 16,000... It was 44 that night and I'm sure it got colder as the game progressed. Keep in mind most Southern Alabamans don't stay out late in that weather. Most fans were gone by the 3rd quarter anyways because it was what the Band likes to call a "blow-out". So yeah seeing the stands at the end of the game on TV probably did look empty. Because they were empty lol...

I was there too. It was sooooooo cold. I left midway through the forth, because my wife was ready to go. The game was well in hand though.

Home games in November don't look to good at ASU either. We are lucky to have 10,000 at a game. ASU loaded 3 straight home games in September last year to boost attendance and it worked. Highest attended season ever at ASU.

Yeah that's what helped us. Which completely baffled me, more showed up for Alcorn State (22,000) than our own homecoming (19,500). It's odd how those kinds of games work out. But we destroyed Alcorn 65-0 haha... So thank goodness for great September attendances like you said because November was ridiculous this past season. 03-banghead

And that's awesome how stAte has doubled their attendances in the past 7 years. I can see most of the Sun Belt school's attendances growing a considerable amount these next few years. With all the attention we're getting from beating and pounding "the big boys" of the BCS and the bowl games Troy and FAU have gotten and ASU being bowl eligible this past season, attention is starting to turn to the Sun Belt.

Just a side note... My grandfather works in Detroit at Chrysler and every time he mentions that I go to Troy his co-workers know who we are and say great things. They also mention FAU because of the Motor City Bowl. So the conference is getting more spotlight. Same for my dad he works up at the IRS in West Virginia and he too mentions that I go to Troy and his co-workers always compliment him on how good we have been doing this year. So people know about the Sun Belt, they might not know all the teams but they will soon enough! 05-mafia

TROY is becoming a "brand." i mentioned this in another thread, but the name alone draws attention.

As for the Alcorn State game having great attendance, well...the students like to see their team demolish folks. Our offense has reached celebrity status among our fans. A team that at one point couldn't score three touchdowns in a single game, now averages 6 or 7 TD's. It's exciting, and the students are on board to see the show.
