So basically, that says to be greedy because wealth gives you happiness. I say BS to that. No wonder those on the right like Ayn Rand. It fits right in with their mindset- it is all about me and needing satisfaction now.

Robert is indeed "greedy". He wants wealth and profit - just not his own. Or, he wants everyone to be equally dirt poor and all the money going to the government to provide us with a myriad of services provided by clout-heavy contractors. Maybe we can model the new America after Cuba. Gee, I always wanted to drive around in a rusty old 1952 Plymouth!

no it says that every man who dares to dream, takes a risk, and busts their arse should reap the rewards of his hard work. sometimes the risk pays off, sometimes it backfires. but thats the very definition of risk

Actually, Robert is a good, nice guy. He's been down on his luck in the job market after leaving NIU. I can understand his attitude. I'd be willing to bet that he would love to work hard at a good job if he could get one. He even relocated to Connecticut for a job. I'm sure if he had a good job that paid a nice salary and benefits, he would change his tune. In the meantime, he is looking for all the assistance he can get.

I don't have much of a problem with Robert. It's the lazy bums out there who refuse to work and prefer to lay at home making babies to get assistance who make my blood boil.

My suggestion to Robert is to change careers if his present one does not pan out. I was in a career that was going nowhere. I made a mid-life career switch (a totally complete change) around age 40. I never looked back.

Greed is one of the seven deadly sins.

There is a differnce in meaning IMO between greed and ambition.

The wealth I have is legally earned. The government is stealing money from me... money that it has not earned. Money that it doesn't deserve often to be redistributed to those who are equally undeserving. I wish to ask, which party is being greedy?
