Bracketbusters and SBC involvement
Does anyone here know why the Sun Belt is not one of the conferences that participates in the Bracketbusters? Of the conferences that have games televised on ESPN outside of the Big Six plus C-USA and the A-10, I think the Sun Belt is the one conference that doesn't have any teams made available for these matchups.

Any reason why? Is it because of the requirement to play a return game against the Bracketbuster opponent? Some teams don't like the possibility of having to travel great distances for a return OOC game that may not mean anything the following season.

WKU was in the bracketbuster for several years and ESPN didn't air the games so it was decided not to participate.05-stirthepot

MT did it not too long ago and we were paired with Portland or something.

We got stuck with a team worse than we were, and had to travel almost to Canada to return the game. And it wasn't even on TV.

You summed it up pretty well right there.

The current set up works if you are one of the top 7-8 teams. They do the pairings in January and put the top home team with the top away team and it gets television.

If you're not one of the better teams, it sucks.
