Long awaited UA vs. UALR matchup is a good possibility
The UALR ladies are #73 in the RPI; UAF is #68. Both likely have to win their tourney's to go to the NCAA tournament. Both will likely be invited to the WNIT if they don't go to the NCAA. UAF won't turn down a bid this year. The WNIT is certainly "all about the money". Could be interesting.

Well then...Pork BBQ at the Jack! Come and get it! :billgates:
Chas and the ladies will be serving it up with a smile.
Compared to the Ladybacks our gals are worldbeaters.

I don't know a single player on the Lady Razorbacks team.

I suspect not many "typical" Hog fans do either.

A women's matchup might indeed happen. And likely without great gnashing of teeth.

Would be a great match up. Most likely played in Fayetteville as I'm sure they learned their lesson with a low bid and traveling to Jonesboro.

I'm not sure I could go watch. I'm a Lady Trojan fan, but I sure can't route root against my Alma Mater.

What a dilemma.

Scotto - Was it you that posted earlier that you were never into Women's Basketball until you started watching our women as part of a double header.

Doesn't seem you were a Lady Razorback fan. Has that changed?

Which raises a another question. What the hell would I do if the men every played..?!?

I couldn't route root against the Trojans either.

Thank Broyles for God.

And exactly what route would you take to not "route" against your Alma Mater?

As far as I know, and Thank God that Frank Broyles is not the Athletic Director of the Chickenhawgs anymore. They need to put his picture in the dictionary next to "arrogance".

I have a degree from the U of A. I'll be hollering my ass off for the Trojans if that were to happen.

That is part of the problem in this state. Hogs fans won't go against their Alma Mater and root for another team over their school. (Which I totally agree with) The problem is that most of the fans that graduate from ASU and UALR don't feel the same way. Even though those schools are their Alma Maters they still will still pull for the swine. Where is the loyalty from our schools. The problem is that people are gutless and they want to jump on board with the big school. Grow a pair and support your own school first. If you want someone else second that is fine.

I made that decision a year after I graduated and never looked back. In 1995, after a life time of calling the Hogs, I took my Alma Mater as my first team in any sport they play. Some Hog fan acquaintance of mine gave me grief about cheering at a UALR game and I just I grew a pair as you'd say and walked away. 06-basketball 06-basketball I still want the Hogs to do well (it sure makes everybody around me happy), but after being away from Arkansas for over a decade and seeing the OU/OSU and TU/ORU series play out year after year in OK, my Hog fandom status is marginal. I have been critical of their past administration and admittedly envious of their dominance in the media. But that is the way it is and I have to accept it.

P.S. Most OU and all OSU fans I've asked think that UAF is GUTLESS for not playing in-state teams.

It takes nothing to go along with the crowd and be a Hog fan in AR.
It takes big brass ones 06-basketball 06-basketball to take a stand and speak up for your Wolves or Trojans. 06-basketball 06-basketball

Not sure why it takes "big brass ones". I stand and speak for the Trojans and have NO connection whatsoever to UALR.

And at 1-10, it takes a little more than "nothing" to be a Hog fan. It's called optimism and confidence that the program will indeed, some day, get back to the Final Four, and perhaps win ANOTHER national championship.

Meanwhile, us Trojan fans are trying to figure out how to get an NIT invite.

Well, Ok, Scotto. I overstated it. :muttering:

Let's just say most Arkansans default to going along to get along.
