You know most of us love Steve and have
tended to overlook his emotional outbursts at games. And with the pressures to win, plus some personal problems, his nerves must really be pretty raw. I have to believe, when he cooled down, he realized he might have gone past the normal dressing down of a player when Stevie walked away. That doesn't excuse Stevie. He's been in the program long enough to know that when the coach chews on you, you keep your mouth shut and take it.

Passion is one thing that makes a great coach. But you have to learn to use it but not go too far. Unfortunately, Steve probably went too rar last night, and it wasn't attractive to a lot of fans. As I mentioned, one of our long time fans was very critical of the coach's behavior last night.

I'd bet money that Chris and Steve had a sit down about what happened last night. When we're trying to build up our fan base, it was a black eye, with the coach screaming at a player, and the player walking off the court and coming back and sitting in the stands. That won't get the job done. There have been reported incidents on the road, but this is the first one I've witnessed at home. I would hope there will never be a repeat of it again. Very distressing.03-banghead

I didn't see the incident, but, a players got to be able to take a good ass chewing if he, or she, wants to play sports, especially on a sports scholarship . Right or wrong, that is a part of it with many coaches. That's just part of it, unless you have Billy Graham coaching the team.

Many coaches would have thrown in a few MF's, and SOB's. Again, that shouldn't be a part of sports, but unfortunately it is in many cases.

Bobby Knight got by with it for many years because he was winning national and conference championships. Coaches who haven't achieved that status better be very careful in possibly alienating and turning off potential fans. We all know money talks, and we can't afford to be turning fans off to our program.01-lauramac2

I didn't see it, and I sat right behind the bench.
