Some thoughts on the WKU game
1. We shot over 50% from the field.(I couldn't hardly believe that
when I heard that.

2. We got our butts kicked bad on the boards.

3. We were bad at the Free Throw line.

4. Once again when we have a big crowd, we blow any chance to
impress any new fans.

5. If they say we sold out, I won't believe it. There were plenty of
seats high in the upper level.

6. Shields still does not know how to utilize a good perimeter shooter
in the offense.

7. Didn't play good Trojan defense.

8. I don't know what happened with Stevie, but if he walked off
the floor, and sat in the stands, he shouldn't have been back in the
game at all tonight. If this happened like that, I am really
disappointed in Shields.

9. I thought our guys played hard.

No "if" about it. Stevie walked off, went to the locker room, came back out in his sweats and sat in the endzone stands. I thought Steve had kicked him off the bench. He may have walked off on his own. I don't know. Obviously emotions were high and everyone was tight. If they worked it out "man to man" in the locker room at halftime more power to them. We don't need dissension on the team at this point in the season.

Might be a little late for that if Stevie is allowed to remain. I have heard for a couple of years that there are players who don't get along with Stevie. If that's the case, this incident isn't going to help. Tough decisions are going to have to be made. I wouldn't be surprised if Chris and Steve are having some discussions about this incident, as well as Chris, Steve, and Stevie. This is just speculation. I don't know anymore than any of you. Just what I witnessed last night, and have read in the paper this morning. Not a good situation when we're on the verge of having a terrific season. That one loss won't determine our success or failure. It's what happens from now to the end of the season. And we had better get the emotional stuff worked out.04-rock

I guess that is what I hate the worst about it.

Same here. No doubt about it.

The reality is, I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference if we won or lost to most of the "casual" fans who showed up last night. They came for a night of entertainment and they got a great one. I remember a number of years ago, Ynocpirt brought some folks to a game against LaTech. We lost a heartbreaker and he felt that would sour the folks he brought to the game on UALR basketball. Not at all. They had a wonderful time. It was only us diehard fans that were sick after the game.

To the "tourists," that was a great atmosphere and an exciting game. Ought to make them come back again.
