Levi Brown or Rusty Smith?
Not intended as a smack thread, who do you think will be more impressive this season? Levi or Rusty?

Make sure to give some good explanations to your choice. Also, if you think a third QB will be the most impressive list him here and explain why. Some guys that could impress include FIU's Paul McCall, ASU's Corey Leonard, and MT's Dwight Dasher.

indeed. The first video I ever saw of him, I thought we has an omar clone. Maybe he'll live it to the hype and be that good.

RE: Levi Brown or Rusty Smith?
Well if I was coaching a team, I would want Levi Brown.

Levi has poise in the pocket. he also has excellent pocket awareness (note his low number of sacks). He has a rifle for an arm and is extremely accurate. Has been said to be the most accurate passer the Conference has ever seen. Like Rusty, he is a leader. He has the ability to carry the team if he has to. However, I believe Levi's situation is much better suited.

Brown has several key weapons returning. WR Jerrel Jernigan, and the addition of freshman Josh Jarboe, should give Levi the big time targets he needs to rack up the numbers. The rest of the receiving corpse is also impressive. With DuJuan Harris, the defense has to respect the run. This will free him up in playaction.

He has the skills and the weapons around him to really shine this coming season. I expect him to up his draft status with this year's performance. If he plays well enough, he could be a first day guy...maybe first round depending on how the day goes.

Rusty Smith has a funky delivery but he is a fiery competitor. I think Levi fits the Troy offense much better than Rusty would.

If I had to pick I would take Rusty Smith because he has done it longer. Ask me this again week 5 next year and my answer might be different.

All homerism aside, I like Rusty over Levi do to my belief in the "traditional" QB role in Football. Not a fan of the spread due to how expsoed it can make your QB.

I just like a guy who can wing it downfield, then someone who has to decide whether to run or pass.

But I do agree, If my team was running the spread Rusty would NOT be my choice, hes not mobile enough to pull that off.

If And I mean a big if Corey Leonard can stay healthy,I would take him over all Belt QB's. When he is healthy, he is a threat to run and pass. He needs to learn to put some air under the ball on the deep routes. Give him TROYS wide recievers and he is the best in the BELT. He has broken almost every QB record at ASU (that includes Cleo Lemmons). Give me a healthy Leonard and some recievers who can catch and we win the Belt.

He also has a lot of experience...Levi did very well last year but the trust test will be seeing him progress from last year to this year.

i'll tell you, it was a scary moment when Jamie went down. Troy fans had no idea Levi would come in and be the star he has become.
