CFN - Breaking Down The NFL Combine
http://cfn.scout.com/2/840482.html

I found this interesting...

Quote:These were the ratings of the players coming out of high school that made it to the combine:
5-star … 20
4-star … 47
3-star … 88
2-star … 98
1-star … 35
Unrated…44

The MAC had 7 players get NFL combine invites?? SBC only has 2?? Something has to give. I'm guessing the MAC having 13 teams compared to the Sun Belt's 8 was a factor.

Quote:Bragging Rights (the conferences)
Yes, this is going to be another infomercial for the SEC. In yet another example of their dominance in the FBS, the league will have 10 more alums in Indy than its nearest competition, the Big Ten. Predictably, the Big East came in last place among the BCS conference, though it should be noted that it also has the fewest members. The top non-BCS conference? Well, it isn’t the Mountain West, which was third behind the WAC and Conference USA.

The smallest school to be represented will be Division III Hartwick, which is sending QB Jason Boltus to the event.

SEC … 55
Big Ten … 45
Pac-10 … 43
ACC … 42
Big 12 … 41
Big East … 25
FCS … 19
WAC … 16
C-USA … 15
MWC … 12
MAC … 7
Division II … 7
Sun Belt … 2
Independents … 2
Division III … 1

Whats sad is Tyrell Fenroy was not invited to the NFL combine. After all he did in college and they don't even want to see what he looks like compared to the other backs in the draft.

Next year I see a few Sunbelt players being invited...Rusty Smith, Levi Brown, Alex Carrington, Boris Lee, Bear Woods, Chris Fisher, etc etc.

If I missed anybody please add on to who you think could get a combine look.

Frantz Joseph also got snubbed. The 2nd leading tackler in FBS last year and no invite. 01-wingedeagle

At least he made the most of his Texas vs Nation game.

And I agree that next year there should be more then 2 at least.

It doesn't make any sense but I am sure they will both get draft looks and if not they will find a good fit in an NFL camp comewhere.

yeah, Fenroy really got snubbed. he is a great back, he'll make a splash in the pros. probably be a late pick, then turn into a star like Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis out of Ole Miss. that guy was a free agent sign and now he's a starter for the Pats!

That sounds about right. There are 80+ Division two schools vs. 9 Sun Belt schools.
