No, they're still fighting like hell.

But the rest of you in the league should be very worried about how this team has stepped up in the past two weeks from an already solid, though unspectacular, year.

This is the story of MTSU. If they could actually put a complete season together, they'd accomplish much. Kermit cannot seem to coach a complete season.

I thought UNT looked great in BG two weeks ago. We don't win that game on the road. I'll add you guys to the list of teams I don't want to play in Hot Springs.

MTSU is dead. I work here, attend most of the games simply because I'm a college sports fan, and I can definitely say the men's team lacks a coach who knows how to coach. Kermit Davis, I was told by two high-profile boosters yesterday, has already been told he will not be retained when the season is over. So, he's packed it in. The fact fans were shouting "Fire Kermit Davis" as the game ended yesterday didn't help matters, either.

On the other hand, I just got home from the women's game today. The North Texas women should have just gotten back on the bus at the half. That was the most dominating game I've ever seen the Lady Raiders play. They should be ranked in the Top 15 or higher, but get no respect because they are in the Sun Belt. If the fail to make at least the Final Eight this year, the season is a failure.

I've never seen a guy consistently recruit so well on paper and never get it done on the court. I thought for sure this would be his year to finally succeed.... but no.

A mediocre coach is more damaging to a program than a horrible coach. Its easy to fire a horrible coach, but one that makes it to the conference finals every other year, pulls a 20 win season every 2 years, maybe an NIT appearance is harder to fire, but just as unsuccessful at getting to the big dance as the horrible coach.
