Don't let logic get in the way of the "always improving Belt" theory. The Belt is certainly more competitive, but that does not mean it is significantly better. The records just do not support this theory. The Belt has got a few more signature wins primarily because they have been able to schedule more home games against name teams and have more teams. Obviously, having more conference games has improved the number of bowl eligible teams. The additions of FAU and Troy have improved Belt football but not to the level some seem to think.

There should to be a rule that anyone downplaying a 26 conference winning streak, should have to be a fan of a school that at least has gone through one year in the Belt undefeated.

Or not...because that would be the dumbest rule in the history of man ever.

MTSU over FAU 2008. First National broadcast from Floyd stadium. Great crowd and an ABSOLUTELY horrible football game. Then this happened...

That's true of every team in every conference. The Sunbelt is just now getting a few home OOC games. Something other conferneces have been doing for years and decades. Now it's an equal comparisson because we are getting good teams at home too.

Obviously, having more conference games has improved the number of bowl eligible teams. The additions of FAU and Troy have improved Belt football but not to the level some seem to think.

Yeah, we now have a decent number of teams, just like all of the other conferences. So, we now have the ability to have multiple bowl eligible teams like everyone else. Before, it wasn't an equal comparrison.

We went years on an unequal playing field in both of those areas. We are finally getting to the point to where we can get good teams at home and have enough teams to become bowl eligible. Those two factors will bring in better players and increase attendance because everyone wants to see the game against the bowl winning FAU or Troy etc. It's a snow ball effect. A few years of being on equal footing and we will have teams as good as any other mid major conference, for the most part. We haven't had as many wins against winning teams because most of our wins come over Belt teams that don't have them. It's not like we have a lot of chances to play winning teams when the bottom half of the conference is struggling in mediocrate. I think a lot of it is due to the teams we play in OOC play.

RE: Biggest Conference win?
what needs to happen is Belt teams need to stop scheduling so many OOC games against monster BCS teams such as Florida, Texas, Ohio State, etc...and begin scheduling more OOC games against fellow mid-major teams and lower tier BCS teams. The biggest problem we've had is few teams with winning records. Stop scheduling unwinable games and start scheduling more teams we can beat. The overall conference OOC record will improve, which will improve our image. recruits want to play in the conference, we get better recruits, which improves our teams, and the process moves along.

we're already better than the MAC, just think how far we can go if we schedule more winnable games. Watch out C-USA, we're comin'!

I'm still kinda angry about that. It was 4th and like 22 from the 27, and our safetys were grarding the endzone, not the first down.

RE: Biggest Conference win?
i was in Mobile watching the game on t.v. at my inlaw's house. I left the room mad because I thought we had lost. My father-in-law came running out the backdoor screaming, "TROY WINS! TROY WINS!" I missed the actual comeback, can you believe it? I had to watch it on replay. Oh well, I was in New Orleans for the bowl game. Had seats on the second row right behind the bench. It was the proudest Trojan moment of my life, watching my team win their first Division 1 bowl game. I can't describe the pride I felt as I paraded down Bourbon Street decked out in cardinal. Troy owned the Street that night. 02-13-banana
