What is the biggest win in your history ?
Just off-season stuff.

What do you consider to be the biggest SINGLE FOOTBALL win in your school's history ?

For North Texas

October 25, 1975. Sears Woods, who played only one year at North Texas returned a kickoff 98 yards with 4:25 left in the fourth stunning 72,000 Volunteer fans at Tennessee's Homecoming game. Woods scored all three TDs for NT. Also a third string QB started for NT because of injuries. NT was 7-4 and the Vols were 7-5 for the season.

FINAL SCORE: North Texas 21 Tennessee 14.

Angry fans parked a moving van in front of the Tennessee coaches house and Tennessee cancelled future games contracted with NT. Tennessee and North Texas have never played again so the Mean Green have a perfect 1-0 record vs the Vols.

Is this confined to football?

Too many posts on here are broad, need to be sports specific.

Troy over #17 Missouri in 2004. Oklahoma State was a nice one too, but not as big as Mizzou.

I cant remember the date, but late november 2007 when we beat Troy.

I know the bowl games have been big and done a lot, but we had NEVER beaten Troy before that day, and it secured the NOBOWL.

If we ever take down a top 25 team Im sure well use that but for now that was "THE" moment in the prorgram that put us on the stage.

RE: What is the biggest win in your history ?
FIU has had some very tough breaks in games that would have been the greatest win in our history; but instead they are remembered as some of the toughest losses (USF 2007, Maryland 2007, Shula Bowl 2008, etc.). But the greatest win came last year against Arkansas St. at home.

Down 21-12 going into the fourth quarter, we just couldn't punch it into the endzone. With a little less than 3 minutes, we're down 21-15 and we're starting at their 38-yard line. On the first play of the drive, reciever T.Y. Hilton goes across and takes a handoff from McCall, fumbles it but then picks it up, reverses the field, and just as he is about to get hammered, he rears back and lobs it up. Fans started going crazy when they see reciever Junior Mertile wide open at the 5 yardline. He catches it and walks it in for a touchdown and we take a 22-21 lead. The play is now known as 'The Hilton Heave' and regarded as the best play in FIU's short history. They try to get one more drive but we intercept it right before they get into field goal range to seal it.

It was the game that had us talking about a posssible bowl game, an important step forward for our program.
