RE: How long have you been a fan ?
I see alot of dedicated Fans here, and that is how it should be. Supporting your Local team is
important. Universites are such an intricate part of the local economy, and need the support
of the Fans in the area. Being a supporter of the "Home Team" is something you can be proud of.

Grew up in Miami all my life, followed UM all my life (*gag*) but I'm a freshman at FIU now and fell in love from the first home game against USF onwards. I feel like I own a stake in this team. The fans that are here now get to witness and be a part of something special down here, and I honestly feel like people down here are going to catch on really quick! They already are!

Good for you, man. Keep your spirit for your team, I hope you guys can put it together. Great football coach, wish we'd have hired him (or someone like him) instead of sifting through the discount table at the high school bake sale.

Very true Cajun. Hopefully that support can include financial support to your University. Universities thrive because of private support. The state just doesn't get it done anymore. WKU's state support went from over 40% of the budget to now only around 20% of the budget coming from the state. So any contribution big or small really helps! Also helps in University rankings... alumni support is a part of the equation.

Okay, I'll take my work hat off now....

I've been a fan since 2002 when coach Roberts was hired. He started winning so I went to a football game and haven't missed a home game since. I attend basketball games now that Nutt is gone. Brady is going to turn ASU basketball around starting next year when his recruits hit the floor. I think I'll start attending baseball games this year. Its only been a little over 6 years but I'm as big a fan as ASU can get.

I've been a fan since a I was a kid in the late sixties. I've seen alot of changes. I can't wait to see what the future brings. As far as I know we are the only school to make the jump to FBS/Div 1A all the way from NAIA. It's been a fun ride.

RE: How long have you been a fan ?
I guess I'm relatively new as a fan. I started here in the Spring Semester of 08, so its been a year now. I never followed college sports while growing up and hated football in high school (was in the marching band). I saw the Sound of the South at a Florida marching festival and with the first note of the FANFARE i fell in love! The Sound was my main reason for coming here to Troy. And ever since I got here I have fallen in love with all the sports. College football is by far the best to watch and now I'm obsessed with Troy Football! Only sports I haven't been to yet are: Soccer, Track/Field, Softball (plan to on Tues when they face Auburn!), and Golf. So I think in the little time I've been here I have become a great fan of Troy and all I want to do is help my Trojans succeed in every way, whether its through cheering or playing in the Sound of the South!!!

Go Trojans!!!!

MT's first 1-A season was my freshman year, 1999. Marched in the Band of Blue, and played for sellout crowds in Florida, Miss. St. and Ark. Always support your alma mater over any other team, especially when they spank Vandy on West End. That stuff is as addictive as crack.

I became a fan my freshman year in 1996, prior to that I didn't really follow college sports.

RE: How long have you been a fan ?
it seems like the bulk of Sun Belt fans are relatively new. So many people have come on board since 1999/2000. Just goes to show, as the Conference improves, the fanbases grows. I'm excited to see the future of the Belt. We are all on the ground floor of our school's rise to prominance. Of course, i'm also the type who always pulls for the "other option." it's what drew me to Troy. everyone around me was for Auburn or Alabama, but I wanted to be different. I chose the Trojans and have been a major advocate for the University and it's teams since then. I was a marketing major my first two years, then switched over to Advertising/Journalism.

So, I guess I am an asset to the promotional aspect of Troy. I know how to do little things to get the word out. 03-wink

90% of the people in Arkansas love the piggies. I didn't want to be one of them. I chose stAte because of the true fans they have. The big schools have wanna be fans. Most of the hog fans have never been to a razorback game. They just jump on the bandwagon. stAte fans are local and attend every game. I love being a stAte fan.

I have been a Mean Green fan since I attended my first North Texas game
at Fouts Field as a true freshman in 1967. There were several future NFL
players on the '67 team, like Joe Green, and Cedric Harman.
Now, 41 years later, I have even more Mean Green loyality and passion,
and I am a very proud to be a Mean Green fan!

RE: How long have you been a fan ?
I have been a UAB fan since the inception of the program. As a result, I've always had an affinity for the Sun Belt, because it's a huge part of UAB's roundball history.

When I was hired at MTSU in 2006, I started cheering for the Blue Raiders, since they signed my paychecks (except when they play UAB, of course). It's been fun to watch the Sun Belt again, especially now that it has football.

RE: How long have you been a fan ?
Was a UM fan since it was the only local college football team in S. Florida for a LONG while.

Became a FAU fan when the announced the formation of the program and Howard was pegged to head it up, so I guess since 1998 although we didnt play until 2001.

GO OWLS!
