I'm wondering, maybe i'm just confused on this topic, but why is ULL so high in the polls when they are only 1-2 and yet Troy is 4-1?

maybe i have my facts wrong ha...

History, who they've played etc. . . They're still working off a lot of preseason predictions.

No the preseason poll had us at #6 in the country. Before the end of the season we will be top 10 again. Have to get a set lineup after losing the best hitter on the team last year. Pitching will carry us. we lost 2 out of 3 to Ole Miss and only gave up 3 earned runs.

i hate preseason polls...in EVERY sport. it gives an unfair advantage to the teams ranked high before games are even played. for example, if USC and let's say LSU are both ranked in the top 5, but Florida State is not...it will be harder for FSU to climb to number one if all three teams go undefeated. Why? Tell me how that makes sense. If all three of these teams match up evenly by season's end, why should a ranking someone gave before the season began influence who plays for the title? Absolutely rediculous if you ask me.

rankings should not be released until atleast a quarter of the way into a season.

Vs. Ole Miss, Lady Cajuns were without the service of the Sunbelt Pitcher of the year , and a Mcdonalds Player
of the year in 08. Ashley Brignac , who is only a So. she returned to pitch 2 innings this weekend and struck out 5 . Cajuns rebounded nicely by dismantling La.Tech 11-0, and beat a good Providence
team 4-2 in the Louisiana Classics Tourney here in Lafayette. So far, 3 wins on the weekend, with
another game today. But make no mistake about it, our 2 other pitchers,, Bourgeois, and Guevas
are plenty good, and are doing a great job . Having 3 good pitchers will pay huge dividends come
NCAA time. Let's hope we have enough power at the plate to return to the World Series .
