New Sunbelt Football Stars
Guys here is the question I pose to you...Who on your teams roster might we not know about right now that come 2009 we will hear a lot about?

I think 2 break out stars for the Cajuns will be Ladarius Green and Daylon McCoy. But Green had 5 TD catches and Daylon was one of our leading tacklers so I will not name them for this question.

I think the guy the Sunbelt will know by the end of the year for the Cajuns is Dwight Bentley. He was a starting corner as a freshman last year but I think this year will be the year people take notice of him.

He isn't in jail yet :D Sorry just busting your chops a little bit. He will be a monster in the Sunbelt and I would rather not have to face him for the next 4 years.

haha, yeah he has some personal issues. still, he's a great player and one i'm really looking forward to getting on the field. With Jerrel Jernigan on one side of the formation, and Jarboe on the other, the JJ's are going to really put a hurting on some folks. 04-rock

Can he miss the flight to Lafayette next year lol Or maybe a slight groan pull, nothing serious just enough to miss 1 game.

Here's one that I'm sure many don't know about.

DT Kevin Dixon. He's a transfer from Nebraska that had to sit out last season. No one even knew about him until Troy blogger Drew Champlin found out just a little over a month ago from the coaching staff that he was going to be on the team next season. He was a 4-star recruit on rivals when the signed with the Cornhuskers and according to the defensive coordinator, he expects him to do a lot of good this coming season.

Do ya'll really need that many good D-Lineman lol I think that is what has separated Troy from the the rest of the Belt. Great D-Lineman are hard to find but Troy always seems to find them.

well, we've put a lot of good defensive players in to the NFL, so kids know they can reach the pros through us. It's easy to find a player for a specific position if he knows the NFL will be watching him at your school

I believe UL needs to capitalize on the DB's that we have put into the pros.

Charles Tillman (CB Bears), Ike Taylor (CB Steelers), CC Brown (SS Texans), Antwain Spann (DB Patriots), and Michael Adams (CB Cardinals)

hmmm, that's a LOT of big names. I wonder why that hasn't paid off for you guys. We put Osi Umenyara, Demarcus Ware, Leodis McKelvin, and Elbert Mack in the pros and now NFL franchises ALWAYS look at what TROY has coming in and coming out. We have scouts at our games all the time, mostly for defensive guys, but soon they'll be coming by to see our offensive guys..especially once Levi, Jerrel, and DuJuan are seniors.

Couple more for Troy:

Look for JUCO Defensive Player of the Year DT Eugene Kinlaw (6'2", 294) to disrupt backfields across the country. Also, **** LB Antonio Harper (6'4", 230) will probably move to DE. He'll be fast.

I think I just now realized how sick our D-line will be. Those guys, Kevin Dixon, Brandon Lang and Cameron Sheffield... wow.

RE: New Sunbelt Football Stars
yeah, our defense is finally going to return to its nationally ranked reputation. with the offense we have, and now this defense, we have the ability to go 11-1. i'd say 12-0, but we're bound to slip up somewhere...we always do.
