Tony Franklin is MTSU's new OC
February 3, 2009
Ex-Auburn aide Franklin hired by Middle Tennessee

Tony Franklin has agreed to become offensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee State, Rivals.com has learned. An announcement is expected to be made Thursday.

Franklin, 51, takes over for G.A. Mangus, who left to coach quarterbacks at South Carolina. Franklin was fired just six games into last season by Auburn after the Tigers offense struggled to adapt to his spread scheme. Despite the struggles at Auburn, Franklin is considered by many to be one of the most innovative offensive minds in the game and a tremendous teacher.

Prior to joining Auburn, Franklin was a highly successful offensive coordinator at Troy from 2006-07. He also was an assistant at Kentucky under Hal Mumme from 1997-2000.

Hell Yes.

Ya'll got Pratt, we got Franklin.

Here's hoping he moves his Troy camps to Murfreesboro.

He should help recruiting greatly

yeah, best of luck to yall KajunRaider. Franklin will certainly help, God knows yall needed it. We're happy with Neal Brown, he runs the ball more and we have good running backs. Pratt will be a nice addition to the stable.

Franklin is going to make a big splash there. I'm REALLY interested in the Battle for the Palladium game now! That'll probably be one of the most interesting Troy-MTSU game ever.
