If there was ever a turning point in a coach's
career, this might be the straw that broke the camel's back. As my earlier post mentioned, this program has shown absolutely no progress since 1999. We haven't been to the postseason. And if the game tonight is any indication, we sure won't be going this year, short of a miracle. We'll be lucky to win a road game against the decent teams in the league.

I really thought that there would be no change in the head coaching position at least until after next year if we didn't get to the postseason by then. Now I'm not sure. If I'm Chris Peterson, I have a problem. Is our fan base going to continue to support the program if we continue to be unable to compete with Western and the other top teams. No excuses. We have the facilities now. It's past time we move up a notch. Obviously much will depend on what happens now, but if we were to lose to North Texas and drop a couple of other games, and not make the postseason, I really believe a change will be made at the end of this season. For Steve's sake, I hope he can get it turned around, but I'm just not sure we can continue to stand pat at this point.

Well, let's wait to see how the season plays out. Stranger things have happened. But in anyone's book this was not a good sign.
