Memphis has lost a true guitar blues master at the young age of 23. I had the privilege of hearing him play on several occasions since he was 16 years old.

I learned of his untimely death last night, and I could not stop crying. I am so sad the world will not get to hear any more of this young man's incredible talent. I am devastated. I don't know why he had to leave us so soon, but I have to rely on my faith and know that he is now part of heaven's incredible blues and funk band.

Play on, Corey! We will miss you terribly down here, but we will never forget you. Thank God for the rare blessing this man imparted to us in his music and his friendship. 04-rock

That's tragic. He was pursuing his dream, and for that I will always remember him.

I knew him well. He was a good player and talent. He will be missed on Beale.

Just found out about Corey yesterday and am crushed. Before moving to Philly, Corey was the one guy that I would go out of my way to carve out time to go see play. He was a huge talent and the consummate performer. Truly breaks my heart. He will be sorely missed.

I saw him play at the Old Millington Winery several times. What a super talented guy. He will be missed.
