Playmakers
Where are the EMU playmakers, namely Gage and White?
Check the stats. Gage has 14 KO returns with a longest of only 26 yds. He's caught 11 passes with a long of 26 yds and ran 4 times for only 1 yd.
White has 6 punt returns with a long of 13 yds. He's caught 8 passes with a long of 16 yds and only ran once for 2 yds.
Last year these were two of EMU's biggest playmakers. It seemed like Gage was a threat to go the distance on every KO return and both of them made their share of big plays on offense.
What gives?

RE: Playmakers
The returns are only as good as your special team teammates. Beard and White are similar in the way they handle punts.

RE: Playmakers
The guy that appears to me to be most explosive in the return game is Corey Welsh. He seems to make something happen every time he touches the ball. His been explosive with his rushing attempts as well. Not sure how fast he is.....but he seems to have a good feel.
The youngster from Ypsi is explosive as well... but I don't know if they trust him to handle returns in pressure situations yet.
I'll saw Gage take a big shot on a return against State. He doesn't seem to be the same since....

Agree with your assessment of Sanders. I like to see him get on the basketball court.

RE: Playmakers
Agree that both Welch and Sanders need to be more involved. Both should be able to contribute as breakaway threats. They are exciting!
