2008 Eagles overview by a Spartan
Hello Eagles fans!

I recently posted an overview of your 2008 football squad on my MSU sports blog. I was hoping some of you could read it and give me your thoughts on it. Am I off base or right on target? Thanks! 04-cheers

Actually not bad. Our defensive line is young and certainly not Big Ten size so Ringer will have a good game probably. You might add that MSU fans saw Schmitt as a freshmen. Missing from that last contest is EMU's all time WR and all time PK.

Also. that 2006 "blowout" was actually 24-20 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

There are a few minor errors but overall it's a decent job, especially for a B10 person covering a MAC team.

NIU might have issues with that cupcake comment. They struggled last year but have been very strong for the past several seasons before that.

Well... it was 52 - 20 at the end of the 4th. 03-wink In all seriousness, it looks like the Spartans will definitely not be able to take the Eagles lightly this year. It seems this is the year for you guys with all of the experience you return. Good luck, I hope you win the MAC and beat Western and Central!

Kitchikewana Wrote:Bonner is in the mix this year at TE and WR. He missed last season because of mononucleosus. Dutcher came down with mono last summer, too, and then became epileptic. He then missed the first week of camp with the flu. Ended up losing 20 lbs in all. Still held the job but after having seizures well into the first half of the season but they ended up pulling the plug.

Riley's knee is not good. Otherwise, we'd be seeing his name mentioned.
Dont know where you heard this from, but Bonner will not be at WR, he would be so far down the depth chart he wouldnt be able to see daylight. He si fully recoped from whatever medical problem he had last year and as you can see, he is at the bottom of the TE depth chart also. This kid has a ton of talent, but a terrible attitude and work ethic. If you notice, he is listed a Senior on the roster thtats because they didnt even offer him a red-shirt. He is big and talented, I can only hope he works his way out of that doghouse. Dutcher sealed his own fate by missing very easy FG`s and extra points, Johnson was just flat out better.

First of all MSUTom, you made a big mistake by posting this on mdead forum, as you can see from the respnses there, 90% of them are idiots and 75% are the same person, if you were smart you`d have it removed.....Once again not much respect for EMU football, but I guess only wins will get that. EMU will not be overwhelmed by MSU, they dont fear them one bit. It all depends on what Ringer does, EMU`s defense will be suspect, butMSU`s is not any better. One spot EMU will not be overwhemed at is the offensive line, its one of the best you`ll see all year. I look for a high scoring game, hopefully with EMU at least 1 point better.

While I appreciate being candid we need to be careful that we do not share too much private information especially medical about a player on this board. I know injuries are part of the game but use discretion in what information you post here. I'm not being critical just thinking out loud.

1 person on MLive is a complete moron, but other than that there's just no one there. As for your comments about the game, I honestly think it won't be a high scoring affair. The Spartans will probably score a lot, but not the Hurons. MSU's defense is in fact vastly superior to the Eagles, I just didn't want to come across as too biased, but I don't really care right now. Don't get sucked into the "upset" frame of mind, you'll only be disappointed. UAB said the same kind of stuff last year, and see what we did to them.
