2008 Summer Olympics...
What athletes with an Eastern Michigan University background have a shot at competing in the 20008 Summer Olympics? I am not just asking about "Team USA".

I have long heard the tagline of how EMU has had at least one track and field athlete in the Olympics since 1960.

Will this still be true?

If not track and field, then what sport?

Go Eastern! 04-rock

RE: 2008 Summer Olympics...
Thanks for the enthusiasm but the two guys to make it to the 3000 finals did not make it to the Olympics. Nieto in the high jump did make to represent TEAM USA!

Are there any others? EMU athletes representing other countries?

RE: 2008 Summer Olympics...
Bad news Boot,

Nieto didn't make it due to not having the "A" standard. He needed 7'6 1/2" to go and he didn't get it in any events.

It's a crappy way that USATF does their system. Even if you place second, you still may not get to go.
