Recruiting Updates
Looks like we are full for next year as we have signed three and only lose 2 scholarship players. We had 12 scholarship athletes this year, which puts us at the 13 limit. So.....
Any word on the recruits for next year (Hanlen, Baker, and Hedgepeth)? Any word on targets for signing next fall?
I know there isn't a lot of word on Belmont recruiting at times due to the types of players targeted by Byrd and staff (i.e. not the traditional AAU circuit), but any word otherwise.
How about Z Mason at CPA? I think he'd be a great fit. Dominating post who is probably a couple inches short to play post at a high major.

I haven't heard anything. I wish they'd say more.

RE: Recruiting Updates
Hedgepeth is supposed to be a legit big guy finally. Baker and Hanlen are supposed to be good as well. I am more excited about Jon Rice next season

RE: Recruiting Updates
Today the Tennessean says that Centennial's Drew Kelly, a 6-7 junior post who averaged 22 ppg, 11.4 rpg, and 3.4 bpg, has offers from Belmont, Western KY, and Southern Illinois. WKU and SIU are very good mid-major programs. Sounds like a good, local prospect for Belmont. Kelly was named 1st Team All-Midstate as a junior.
Also has Z Mason listed at 6-6 with 23 ppg, 10.2 rpg, and 5.1 bpg for CPA as a junior. He was also first team All-Midstate, but they do not list specifically who is recruiting him (only say several mid-majors). This kid is a man-child. The only thing keeping him from high D1 is 2-3 inches. He has torn down a backboard in a game.
I'd love to see Belmont grab both guys as Dotson will be gone and Belcher will be a senior by the time they arrive. We certainly need one post player, and both would be great though neither have tremendous size.

RE: Recruiting Updates
Looks like Drew Kelly also has offers from Notre Dame, George Mason, MTSU, and Murray State. Could be a tough get with those offers in addition to W. Kentucky and SIU.

RE: Recruiting Updates
I dont think MTSU or Murray State are going to be a favorable choice I like our odds against them, I say we got a shot
