RE: The official Broncos @ Pacific gamethread
After we hit a 3 they came back and hit a 3 of their own. It killed the momentum.
offense wins games, DEFENSE wins championships.
The last team that we had go dancing seemed like they focused on defense and that fueled the offense. Now it seems like we are trying to live on the offense.

C'mon Hawk. That's B.S. - "we're not built for this kind of basketball. We're a physical basketball team. We've got to make some adjustments." No ****.
He's referring to the emphasis on hand checking calls. That is not news just breaking right now. You KNEW coming in that a) They don't play physical ball on the west coast b) they are gonna call hand checks more this year

Hawkins Post Game
We're going to have to make an adjustments. There's a heavy emphasis on hand checks, and they drove the ball at us, and they called it on us. We've got to move our feet and keep our hands off. They got a lot of free throws out of it.
We've got to get better at fouling away from the ball. Too many free throws broke the flow of the game. We need to make an adjustment defensively.
Derek played well.
When they jumped out in their big lead early, we had shots, they just didnt fall. We've shot well this year, but those were all at our place.
Foul trouble took us out of our flow. The 2nd unit was moving their feet, and they got us back in it. That group of Drews, Kool, Mike aren't exactly made for moving their feet and this brand of basketball. It's not a physical game, it's more of a finess athletic game. We need to adjust.
I like coming out here. It gives us a chance for consecutive days of basketball. Hopefully we can be talking tomorrow at 1-1.

I mentioned in my recap of the Tri State game on Broncoblitz, that "stand for defense" only lasted 20 seconds.
I remember when we had to stand 4 and 5 minutes.
If Hawk is correct that physical style bball is done, this team is in trouble.

We should dominate Pacific on the interior. Hope Paul is ready to roll.

For a below average rebounding team they have some size. They have a deep bench that sees 15-18 minutes a game.
This will be an interesting game. A little like Ohio in they have a number of tweeners who play outside with some skills. There coach is very solid and a long time guy. Won't beat himself with indecision.
May be a little leg weary with the travel and a 11 am Pac. time tip off.
