Whotep has always been a loser in football, they only have 3 winning seasons in the last 35 years, and outside of this past year they've been sucking in basketball for a long time. At least we don't lose to 1-AA teams like they do. The only time they get good crowds is when they play us and that's because we bring half the crowd. I'm not even going to get into academics but we are a top level research institution and UTEP is a remedial school. C-USA is going to regret this decision.

That's the dumbest post i've ever read. Question for you which D-1 has the longest bowl drought it's NMSU. You people have no facilities no fan support and on top of that you are a cow college. UTEP owns West Texas and Southern New Mexico nobody cares about NMSU. For god sakes you have livestock in front of your school, real academic. NMSU can't trash anyone NMSU is trash and will never be half the school UTEP is. NMSU never brings more than 105 of the crowd to El Paso in fact UTEP and UNM are who keeps NMSU above the minimum attendance rules. At the b-ball game this year in Las Cruces half the crowd was from UTEP. In El Paso no one from Las Cruces even showed up.

your kidding right????

NMSU as outstanding facilities and growing fan support, over the last 10 years NMSU as avg. WELL betten than the minimum attendance rules FB per. season and verying on 8K to 11K per season in BB

the truth is that nobody cares about UTEP in Southern New Mexico, son this is Aggie country

and don't come to us talking about the joke that is Texas academics ( anyone with a 1.75 can get into any UT-system campus mius Austin )

we are the only land-grant institution in the US that is also classified as Hispanic-serving by the federal government and ranked by the Carnegie Foundation in the top research category, Research-Extensive. AND The university is also home to the state's only NASA Space Grant Program. With extension and research sites in every NM county.

UTEP is nothing more than a poor man's technical college, ALWAYS HAVE AND AlWAYS WILL BE.

so don't try to trash us, it won't work

And we're gonna kick Whotep's ****** again in football this year unless they get too chicken to play us like they did 3 years ago. Now that you lost your coach we're gonna kill you in basketball next year also.

It's to easy to trash you guys. New Mexico doesn't have the TASP test. We make people pass it before they can graduate. New Mexico doesn't have a college addmissions test. Secondly we have alot of support in southern New Mexico. If i'm skiing in ruidosa i can listen to Miners games because they are a part of the UTEP radio network so that dispells your myth about Southern New Mexico being Aggie country. Your facilities are crappy i don't know how you can say they are good. Pan Am may be getting renovated but the only thing that could help that piece of trash is a bull dozer to level it so you could start over. Your fans have all jumped on the UTEP bandwagon face it. You're a crappy cow college all you produce are worthless farmers who suck up government aid.

Oh boy.....here we go with the TASP test. everyone knows that back win good'O G.W. Bush was the Governor of texas, he watered down Public Education in Texas to the point that's it's a joke.
hell 60% of people living your state can't read or write....we know this cause the head of DPI here in Wisconsin did a report on Public Education in Texas.

yes....it's true that New Mexico doesn't have a college addmissions test, are schools are so good we don't need one.

and now because you can get Whotep's in ruidosa means nothing....I know, I work in radio and radio Stations will happly air any programing that Whotep's pays for.....it don't mean anyone eles is listenning......we ( WTMJ 620AM ) used do the same thing for Marquette University here in milwaukee.

and that statement about worthless farmers who suck up government aid.
yeah kid, just remember that 80% of the food in this country comes from farmers.

so don't try to trash us, it won't work

I really hate it when people just down right LIE. We can have a good heated rivalry and debate minerfanic but why result to lieing? Facilities, 33,000 seat AMS, no bad seats anywhere. Yes it's not up to snuff with some of the modern stadiums or even the sun bowl but it's not a bad place. Add the new Fulton center and weight room and we are right up there with most d-1 schools. The PAC is better than the don hand's down and it will be even better after the 23million dollar renovation, I don't think even you could argue against that. Academically NMSU has always had one of the top rate EE departments in the Nation. Not to mention Business, Music, and journalism(where a good number of your journalist in the southwest have hailed from, in fact many an Aggie are now at top national posts in journalism. And we are hardly ashamed of the best AG school in the SW. Agriculture was the foundation of this country and continues to be the mainstay of the New Mexico economy.

Listen I like the I-10 rivalry in fact i can't wait until October the second. NMSU and UTEP are both great academic institutions, I fired some cheap shots at NMSU because the Aggie fan who started this thread trashed UTEP. I would love to be in the same conference as NMSU can you imagine if The battle for I-10 was a championship game they would have to bring out the national guard. Also it will be hard almost impossible for any team in the WAC to sweep a basketball roadtrip in El Paso and Las Cruces. I think in actuality the two schools arwe goood for each other neither school wants to fall behind the other academically or athletically so the bar is continually being raised at both institutions. I went off on a little rant because I thought the person who started this thread was treying to flame UTEP I will defend my school all the time as i'm sure you will defend yours thats what makes this rivalry special.

Too bad that it looks like UTEP will be leaving just as NMSU is joining the WAC.
So, in effect, NMSU will replace UTEP in the WAC.

I was looking forward to the basketball trips down your way. Sure would have made it convenient on the Bronco basketball team. They could have stayed in the same hotel for both games.
