"The Sun Belt folks are saying that UNT only can't work. They also say a division with only four central time zone teams can't work.

My hunch is that if UTEP goes that the WAC will offer UNT, ASU, ULL, and one of MTSU, Troy and Idaho to go to 12. The counter-offer will be take all six and go to 14 which creates a 7 team eastern division with 6 central time zone teams meaning only two cross-over games per year in football and only one of those on the road.

If you can figure out how to protect the west in revenue the deal works out wonderfully. Neither the east nor west wishes to play the other and larger divisions reduce the amount of crossover."

I think that that format looks alright. There seems to be a major difference in divisional strength. But nothing we couldn't work through.

Do you think that all of those teams would have an interest in joining the WAC? 03-confused

No Ark St or ULL in the WAC please (unless ULL has to come for UNT).
It's just getting back to the WESTERN athletic conference. Hopefully both LT and UTEP stay.

But LaTech cannot stay in the WAC without another Central Time Zone team or 2 or 3.

I could live with UNT, LaLA, and ASU in the WAC. It is not the best scenario, but the WAC needs a few extra teams above 8 for insurance against a MWC raid.

Thats why I left out UNT- I would be glad to have them join. I haven't read too much into it but it sounds as if UNT might not come without another team (ULL).

Ragin Cajuns are okay. I could be okay with Arkansas State too. I just don't want any Monroes or Idahos.
