After attempting to fix the early morning downtime of 20-30 mins... something went very wrong, and after I FINALLY managed to get into the server, the server load was nearly 200 (virtually unheard of) -- and there wasn't enough RAM/Virtual memory left on the server to store an mp3. At 7:00 PM EST I issued a reboot to the server. The server load was so high, the reboot stalled and never processed. At 8:00 PM EST techs at our datacenter out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL did a manual reboot on the box, which appears to have fixed whatever the issue was.

my god it was terrible. i was stuck here when the server went down. everything went blank, silent, still. it was a NIGHTMARE, only with less nudity.

i screamed, moaned, cried, wept, giggled, panicked, screamed again for help!

then i spilled my beer.

i tried to leave, but couldn't! the servermaster wouldn't let me leave!! i was stuck here, all by myself, alone, lonely, cold, damp.

i wanted to post something, anything, a message for assistance, a cry for help, an order for pizza, but nothing, nothing.

i panicked. again.

the board remained still and quiet, despite my screams into the inky darkness, a darkness that enveloped me slowly, horribly, completely around my soul, my spirit, my virtual me, trying to choke the breath from my virtual lungs and suffocate any possible thought.

but i fought it. i thought hey, i can just use my imagination to get through this! i can play the next football season in my mind to get me by!

so i did! i kicked back and relaxed, took a sip, then dreamt the bronco's entire first game, every single play, even the coin flip which was done, of course, by a nude denver broncos cheerleader.

then i played the bronco game in my head! every snap! every touchdown! every long bomb, every screen pass, every offside penalty!! exciting stuff!

but they lost. to milwaukee.


so i shook my head and tried again.

this time, they played the correct team, a real team, and won! they beat idaho 17-4 in a very weird game.

no cheerleaders, or band.

but we'd won, and were 1-0, so i dreamt about week #2.

but then, just as the BSU/Oregon State game was about to commence, the lights came on and the board was live and everything was back to normal!

i was saved!!!!


except i was still damp. and i realized there never was beer after all.

gee, i wonder what shorted-out the server...


oh well, it's good to be back!!
