This subject has been worn out here before. I only drop by now and then but what about Gonzaga? If you are going with some non football schools, which I think is a great idea, Gonzaga, Fullerton St and UCSB all come to mind. Four non football schools plus UC-Davis and Montana would greatly increase WAC security over the next ten years.

If the WAC were to go to 10, it would be for both Olympic sports scheduling and to add a baseball team.
Gonzaga, if they play baseball, would be a great add but they are very comfortable in their WCC-church school alignment.
I think if we're to add anyone, it will be Montana when they decide it's the right move. I can't see the ADs and presidents voting for a non-football school.

Benson has already stated that they are looking to add a non-football, Basketball school... But I would hope the powers that be would have enough sense to take one that has baseball, as thats were we need teams the most.

Being a CUSA fan, I definately can appreciate baseball... But, I also feel the first poster is on to something. The WAC would benefit greatly by following the early CUSA (Big East) model. And, that would be by solidifying their basketball standing. Football and basketball are what brings in the $$$, and there aren't many teams out there (outside of the "major" conferences) that I'd place higher in the pecking order than Gonzaga.
The WAC would do really well to woo them and start morphing their brand.
