[QUOTE]Excuse me? MTSU defeated ON THE ROAD Akron which none of you mentioned!

And how come Central Florida got little mention even though they got waxed by Buffalo to tune of 48-20 earlier this year and wound up losing at home to Akron this past weekend?

I think all the proof Sun Belt fans need is the current ESPN Bottom 10 in which not a current member of the Sun Belt is on that list or waiting list. [QUOTE]

Oh, this is so classic. An MTSU fan explaining why they DON'T belong inthe Bottom 10. LOL! This is too funny.    [U]

What is with all of this SCUM BELT CONFERENCE talk here? I thought this was supposed to be the W.A.C. forum......not the SCUM Belt Conference forum. Who gives a sh## about Middle Tennessee State and North Tex-a$$ etc here? Certainly not me.

Yea, for all those who keep putting the Cajuns in the bottom 10, they are 4-4 on the season. Don't forget, they took the WACky's beloved Louisiana Tech Dawgs to the wire in Ruston.

Boise State Rules,

Here's my Hunch...........

None of them could get into C-USA and have stopped invading the C-USA board for the most part. My guess is they think that the WAC is a step up and wouldn't mind if you took them in. Thats what they are doing on your board.

Sorry, but you lost to Idaho and that really drags down the perception of the Cajuns as a good team....

Oh, and ESPN's take on the worst teams in the nation...the Bottom 10:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?p...age=bottom10047

Not one Sun Belt team? Things are changing.
But the ESPN Poll is tongue-in-Cheek. They often still a top 20 team in the bottom 10 after a poor outing!!!!!!

We are trying to get some serious input here!

Is the MAC really worse than the Sun Belt?????

What happend to Troy State after their great start!

Looks like they pulled a "Fresno"!!!!!

My Current Bottom Ten:

1. Central Florida
2. Kent State
3. Louisiana Lafayette
4. Ball State
5. Tulane
6. Louisiana Monroe
7. Kent State
8. Central Michigan
9. Western Michigan
10. Buffalo

None of the above teams have more than 1 win against d1a teams!!!

Congratulations to Idaho for dropping of the Bottom 10 list. That moved La, La up the list!!!!
The Sagarin Bottom 10:

1 - Western Michigan (Broncos)
2 - Buffalo (Wings)
3 - Ball State (Ballers)
4 - Kent State (????)
5 - Eastern Michigan
6 - Central Florida
7 - Tulane
8 - Central Michigan
9 - SMU
10 - Idaho

The MAC is using up most of the bottom 10 pairings. Hard for other conferences to be represented.

Interesting note: Idaho will be replacing SMU in the WAC in 2005!
1 - Western Michigan

5 - Eastern Michigan

8 - Central Michigan

Is there a Northern Michigan and Southern Michigan?? Do they suck too???
My Bottom 10 after week 8:

1 - Central Florida 0-7
2 - Buffalo 1-7
3 - Ball State 1-7
4 - Western Michigan 1-6
5 - Idaho 2-6
6 - Kent State 1-6
7 - Temple 1-7
8 - Arkansas State 2-6
9 - SMU 1-6
10 - Tulsa 1-6

All the above teams have guarenteed losing seasons!!!!!!

Here is the BPI, Bad Program Index. Teams are awarded from 1 to 20 points based on how they rate in three indexes. 20 points for being last in the nation to 1 point for being 20 spots from last.

The three rating indexes are:
Average attendance
Sagarin Rating
Massey Rating

Attendance is included to give weight to programs that are not only not performing well but currently lack a decent fan base.

Here is your current BPI Bottom 10 (points out to the side)
10. Temple 30
9. Akron 32
8. UCF 35
7. Kent State 36
6. Ball State 39
5. Central Michigan 40
4. Eastern Michigan 42
3. San Jose State 45
2. Western Michigan 48
1. Buffalo 55

The waiting list.
SMU 26
Idaho 26
No one else is within 10 points of 10th place.

Sorry, my bad in missing Kentucky. Still 2 1A wins total in that huge of a conference?

Wow, the MAC is really in the toilet this season. Of course, winning a few games would really make a difference for some of these teams.

Congratulations to Idaho for number 11.
At least SMU will be in CUSA next season.

San Jose and Idaho will be the anchors in the WAC!!

Why isn't Louisiana Monroe on this list????

Where does this list come from, Is there a LInk?????

My own calculations.

La. Monroe would #13 with 19 points.

They are just barely in the bottom 20 of attendance and barely make the bottom 20 of Sagarin.

Nice ArkstFan!

Can you update this every week.

It is very interesting. Maybe the whole MAC should drop to d1aa, or maybe they should let all the teams in the d1a that are will to finance the 85 scholarships!

I sure would hate to see Idaho drop back.

There are only two schools in real danger. SJSU and Temple and I say them because there have to be questions about the committment of the administrations.

The problem with the idea of culling say the bottom 5% is that there is always going to be a bottom 5%.

The NCAA's Philosophy Statement recognizes that football classification is an institutional decision based on the objectives of the school for football.

The way I see it, is if Buffalo is willing to make an investment in football and continue to be I-A despite consistently bad teams and consistently poor attendance, whose business is it to tell them to quit doing it?

After posting a 4-40-1 record most would have argued Kansas State had no business being I-A, especially after 54 years of Big 8 membership yielded no bowl bids.

Technically, we can still go 6-6.

Yeah, K-State was so bad that SI did a two page article titled 'Pitiful State'. I thought it was cruel and unnecessary, but for some reason SI failed to ask for my input prior to running the story; go figure :D

Both Oregon Schools were in that category during the 60's, 70's and 80's. There was always rumours about the PAC8/10 dropping the Oregon schools.

Now they sell out all of their games.

Even Washingtons State has gone to the Rose Bowl a couple of times!!!!

I too, think that there should be no attendance requirement for D1A, only a 30,000 seat stadium requirement and sponser at least 80 schollies!!!!

Sounds good to me, but I kind of like the schools being forced to use real butts in the seats counts. The Reno attendance story really shocked me!!!!
