Who do you think is the best quarterback in the W.A.C. this season? According to the QB efficiency ratings (so far) it is clearly San Jose State's Dale Rogers as he checks in with a QB efficiency rating of 171.61, yet his team is not winning too many games. And he only has 74 pass attempts this season (compared to 177 for Jared Zabransky and 243 for Timmy Chang, etc.)

Jared Zabransky of Boise State checks in with a QB efficiency rating of 148.80, and 2nd in that category in the W.A.C. but he has not played particularly well of late (he was around the mid 160's earlier this season).

Matt Kubik of La Tech checks in at # 3 in the W.A.C. in Passing Efficiency with a rating of 133.12.

Timmy Chang of Hawaii is # 4 in the W.A.C. in Passing Efficiency with a rating of 132.20. He passes for lots of yards, but that's not too surprising since Hawaii averages about 60 passes per game.

I've never liked Chang's style. Chang is far too "eratic" to be my QB. Throws allot of passes, but also throws allot of INT's. It will be very interesting to see if he even gets drafted this year by the NFL. My guess is that Chang is simply a product of the June Jones system, and he will NOT be drafted.

Matt Kubik is brand new to this QB job, but he is getting better quickly. Unlike Chang and former Tech QB Luke McCown (now with the Cleveland Browns), Kubik is not flashy, throws fewer passes (25 to 30 per game) and throws very few interceptions. Kubik may not "win it" for you, but he likely won't "lose it" for you either. We like that about Kubik.

I haven't seen Dale Rogers (SJSU) play, but I've watched Jared Zabransky (BSU) a couple of times and I love his style. In short, Zabransky knows how to win, and that's what you want your QB to do.

It's wierd. I voted for Jeff Rowe and it won't let me vote again but it says Rowe has 0 votes.

Please only technical answers to this problem. i don't want any grief over the fact that I was voting for Rowe.

I voted for Zabransky. He's put up good numbers and most importantly, he's getting the Ws.

I am pretty pleased with Chang this year though. He's been more careful with the ball (15 TDs/ 3 INTs) in 282 attempts.

I have no idea why your vote for Rowe didn't register. That is very odd. Maybe one of the admins here can address that. 03-confused

I do know that you are only allowed to vote once. Maybe you accidentally voted for Kubik instead of Rowe.......is that a possible explanation?

Maybe I accidently voted for Kubick. That would certainly explain why Kubick has so many votes. I'm just going to assume that all votes for Kubick and Palmer were people trying to vote for Rowe but they accidently hit the wrong button.

Someone should really vote for Chang, afterall, he will most likely break the NCAA all time passing yards record in Bronco Stadium this Friday!!!!!

Hey, Thanks!
I wonder why Chang gets so little respect from us?

Maybe because he passes for a tremendous amount of yards but few touchdowns!!!!
Hawaii lost to the little Florida d1aa team to start the season, which pretty much killed their bowl chances.

I agree--until this year. Being a LaTech fan, you probably haven't seen Chang play this year yet--but he's been one of the few bright spots of the Hawaii season. It looks like he's *finally* solved his accuracy problems of recent years.

His TD/INT ratio:

2002: 25 TD / 22 INT
2003: 29 TD / 20 INT
2004: 15 TD / 3 INT

Through the first few weeks of the season, Chang actually lead the nation in terms of Interceptions / Attempts. (He still might, I don't know for sure)

In any case, his performance this year is resulting in NFL scouts looking at him a lot more than before. It's possible that Timmy has finally arrived. (I'm not sure about the rest of the team though)
I've seen him projected to go in the 6th to 8th round.

Timmy Chang has asbolutely no shot at making it in the NFL.....IMHO.

And I assume that these messages here were posted PRIOR to last Friday night's game where Chang threw four interceptions. Hmmmm, what a difference a few days (and one game) makes.

I disagree. If Chang could find a pro team that is willing to play all home and road games in Hawaii then he would have a fine Pro career.

I totally retract what I said about Timmy Chang. It looks like his TD/Interception ratio this year was an anomaly after all. 03-razz
