I am surprised that Idaho is rated so low. Their fans have always claimed that they have high academic standards!!!!!

Certainly do. But the program just started last year.

Are they any good? Nevada traditionally finishes last in Women's Bball and we're not going to let some upstart program come in and take that away from us.

Why didn't Utah State have a womens basketball team before?
Did Utah State have any womens sports programs before the last couple of years?

I am definitely not the expert on any of these issues, but I will do my best.
First, they won 5 games last year. Not too bad, considering the program is still in its infancy.
Second, I believe the answer is money, money, mo---naaayyy!! Monaaaaaay!!
Third, track, cross-country, softball at least.

I thought Utah State was most famous for its great womens gymnastics program.

I think you might be thinking of the program at Utah, which for a long time was the top DI program in the west...and at times in the nation.

Boise State's biggest rival in womens gymnastics is Utah State. Utah State is always good, but not great like Utah. Utah is top 10, Utah State is Top 30!

My bad. I thought the discussion really was to include a super Utah gymnastics program. Outside my top team, I only follow a few other programs-- mostly in the Big 10, SEC, and Pac10, though Nebraska appears to be improving. I generally watch these teams, because my favorite Elites tend to go to these schools. I would consider Utah State a top 40 women's gymnastics school, but not top 30. None the less, Utah State must be having a few down years. They haven't been at regionals since 2002.
