Do any of you remember an asst coach you had about 6 years ago (Art Valero)?
: He is with the Tampa Bay Bucs now. He is supposedly a candidate for the
: NMSU head coaching job, and I was wondering if any of you had any input
: about him. Would you want him as your head coach?

Art played for Boise State. He was on the 1980 D1AA national championship team. He went on to be an assistant coach to John L. Smith at Idaho and followed John L. to Utah State and beyond.....

Thats all I know off the top of my head. He is one of those strange guys with ties to both Idaho and Boise State.

Art was a good coach. Well liked and respected while he was in Logan. Would probably be a good coach for NMSU.
